Tanking Axe-Wielder

I was planning a 25 SPR, rest into END sort of build, with Axe as the weapon of choice.

Of course, I need to hear if people are saying that's absolutely ludicrous and I'm an idiot for thinking it up.

Also, I needed to ask, do you have to have a shield to block?

To block yes you need a shield, but to EVADE (enemy misses all together) you do not. Your END points in this case will only help your HP and DEF, while the shield block rate increase will be pointless (as you don't have a shield) I personally don't think this is a good idea. If I were to use an axe I would go full str (or in your case 25 spr as well), but who am I to say how you play?

My build is 15 SPR and full END, with an axe I can solo and party pretty well.
Just make sure you are using vit and shield scroll when tanking. Also look for +END ring to add more def.

Tanking by using axe is quite good since you can keep aggro due to axe high damage + crit, unless a high lvl mage outdamage you.

I've only been playing this game for about less than a week and I'm a fighter lvl 27(pretty damn close to it as I type this). I currently have 21 points into spr and 10 into end. So far I've been doing pretty good I think. Infact my friend who is a full end fighter with shield was complainning to me today. He said "I don't get it, I have more def and hp than you but I have a harder time" this is while we where killing gold slimes/glow wolfs.

I take more dmg than him but I kill so much faster and I don't even have any str besides my +7 str ring and +4 str +4 end ring. I'm not sure how I will continue to build my char, I was thinking maybe 2:1 end str after I reach 25 spr. Regardless My char seems pretty good to me and I was tanking bosses in mara kq with no problems.

I should add that I always have tier 1 shield scroll/vit scroll and power scroll (axe aim suck). activated.

i just started a coulple days ago and im lv 12 almost 13 and this is my first time on the forums my question is what exactly is tanking, so for i think i have the basic understanding that a fighter has lots of END so he has plenty of HP and lots of DEF to protect the HP

Tanking is that you became meatshield for your party.

A tank job is to gain aggro from mobs (by attacking them or taunting) so the mob will attack you instead of your party members.

Lots of HP and DEF mean u can survive longer even when you are dealing with 3-5 mobs, off course you need a good cleric support for healing.
