Does it matter if I open the launcher from the desktop, or from the folder that contains everything?
If you're wondering why I'm opening it from the folder, it's because my desktop/quicklaunch icons dissapeared when I transfered it from my old hardrive to my new one.

No, it doesn't matter - the icon on the desktop, as with anything else is a shortcut to the directory that contains all of the files related. (Unless your code is corrupt, you changed it, or windows is having an issue, and is scrambling icons (common with Vista))
To put it back on the desktop, right click on the launcher, create a shortcut.. then copy/paste it to the desktop.

You can't copy/paste the .exe itself, you have to right click on it and create a shortcut, then copy/paste the shortcut - If the shortcut copy/pasted fails, then you have a Windows/path issue, and the installation of windows could be partially corrupt.

Nope, I'm beginning to think that for some reason, my launcher isn't updating. . .
