Can anyone tell me why my monitor keeps turning itself off when i play FIESTA.
it never used to do it but it seems to be doing it more in the last week!
is it a glitch in the game that controls the graphics ?
has it got any bugs specific to graphics that would cause this problem ?
i have reformatted and reinstalled everything so im at a loss as to why it is doing this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thnx

It shouldn't have anything to do with the game. It sounds like your monitor is just going bad.

IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE GAME IS RUNNING, MEANING SOME KIND OF PROBLEM WITH THE GAME!
but the computer crashs too when the monitor go's into stanby mode all the lights on the keybord are on and the lights on the dvd and cd drives are on and they wont open and i cant get the screen to come back on so it cant be my monitor

Well if it HAS to be blamed on Fiesta for your computer monitor turning off.. go after your graphics drivers on your computer then.

Tip: disable your screen saver
Tip #2: disable hibernate
Tip#3: check your windows power settings to make sure that it's not turning off the monitor after a specific amount of time, which can cause what you speak of. If it is, adjust it for 30 min of inactivity, so if you go afk images dont get burnt into the screen.
(Before I'm told that I didn't read what was said.. I did, I just know how windows acts up and 3rd party screen saver applications can play hell on other pieces of software - it is windows, afterall.)

All of those things you mentioned are already in that configuration and i do not use third party screensavers as involve unwanted adware etc...
Anyone else have any ideas ?

If it is a 7800gt, then that's your problem. There are numerous flaws with this hardware that manufacturers aren't willing to admit to. This is kind of obvious when you consider that many manufacturers were offering free replacements with 7900 series cards, and numerous firmware flashes being released which significantly slow down the timings, but still don't fix the problems. Also interesting that these cards were on the market shorter than any nVidia or ATI card to date. Go down to your local Best Buy and try (then return if you must) any other video card there, and I bet it won't happen.

Your graphic's card stops responding for a bit, because you're computer can't handle all the graphics. Turn your shadows and LoD low, or off.

The same thing happened to me last week, and i had to keep rebooting my computer.
Now it's fine though.
