View Full Version : Clerics and Giild Wars

I am so tired of seeing Clerics (most of which just got their revive skill) Medaling in Guild Wars.
It is wrong and they shouldn't be doing it.
Just yesterday there was a Guild War going on and of course my friends and I were watching.
A Fighter lev 4x got taken down right in front of me and a lev 5x Fighter came over to me and said to me "Cleric, res this fighter! I need him out of the spawn"
I refused to res him.
Well the Fighter got really angry with me but I really don't care.
I don't do that.
Personally I think that any Cleric buffing or resing outside of the war should be subject to being killed by the opposing Guild and lose EXP.
Or Clerics should be prohibited from casting on waring Guilds if they are not in one of those Guilds.

Agreed 100%.

I think they should implement some sort of guild arena so guilds can war peacefully without the meddling, the 'Can I join ur guild plz' requests and the lagging in the cities.

Clerics outside of the war are invincible and not subject to any kind of loss or retaliation so it is not fair to either guild participating in the war.
I think option 1 or option 2 should be put into effect as soon as possible.
It has become all to frequent where Clerics that can't mind their own business and are so eager use their new skills cast on waring Guild members and the opposing Guild members cannot retaliate.
Something really needs to be fixed.
Just my opinion.

I interfere when people who are blind open their mouth. A good example of this: 2 guilds were fighting near where you spawn in elderine if you die. I died, and when I popped in, I healed myself. Was called a noob, and told not to interfere in the guild war when I hadn't done -1- thing at that point. (they weren't watching, obviously) I couldn't make a liar out of the one who pointed fingers without a clue as to what was happening, so I healed the opposing guild 40min-ish to make my point known. Had I been healing, they would have known it much sooner. Lack of attention to detail can get a guild killed.

Ugh, a fighter that was a fair level for my guild was owning us one by one because he had a mob of clerics spam healing him. So not fair IMO.

The only time I would interfere in a Guild War is if I see a Guild Against Gardon of Recluse. Ill by all means help the opposing guild as much as I can.

LOL !
Ok, Gardon of Recluse doesn't count. ^^
Maybe I would too considering their Clerics have stepped right over me several times and wouldn't even give me a res.

I think that there should be a flagging system. When flagged, they cannot be healed by anyone but themselves, and a ressurected character must stay unflagged for X amount of time (To avoid people ressing, then killing, and ressing, then killing. it also acts as a penalty)

Sometimes I may not like the opposing guild and/or may have friends in the one that is warring. In either case I sometimes have gotten involved and helped them along the way through it.
Last night for example I was roaming through Elderine and I noticed at least 3 guilds were all attacking Cherry guild. I ran into Meek and he joined up with me and we started war with CrimsonWolves (CW) or something to that effect. They were one of the 3 guilds attacking Cherry.
At the time of the 3 v 1, there were a lot of CWs running around. The minute we arrived and delcared war to even the odds, *poof* suddenly there were only 2 or 3 CWs at most.
We essentially gave them a beating all the while being asked "how is this fair?! why are you doing this". Well, simply put... why didn't they think about that very thing when 3 guilds were all beating up on Cherry. Think those were fair odds? I won't even begin to go into the "spawn camping" the Guilds were doing.
We simply jumped in and gave a sampling of what Cherry was feeling. Did we win? Yah, but it sucks that most of CW disappeared as we were hoping for more people to play with.

I agree that something needs to be done about guild wars in general. I am fortunate to not have been around at the time, but some of my guild mates had stores up in town, and some other guild declared war on our guild and just killed them over and over again (they were afk). Once they got back and realized what was happening, they beat the offending guild easily. I certainly think you should be allowed to declair war on another guild without them having to accept or something?

Call targets and focus fire. Heals should be mostly irrelevant in PvP. If done properly you should be able to nearly instakill somebody.

As I've said before, if you don't want clerics to heal you, ask them not to. I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige and save their SP rather than heal you again.
If you don't want non-guild clerics around whilst you're fighting in a guild war, stop fighting in the middle of town. Even the little lake in the bottom left of Elderine is pretty quiet, and would stop people having to put up with the lag caused.
If you don't want clerics helping your opposition, then.... try working on your PR? If I'm passing through town and I see people fighting a guild that's annoyed me in the past, I'll probably fling a heal or two their way. If I'm partying with someone and they get mobbed passing through town because of some guild war, I'm going to fling heals at them for as long as it takes, so we can get on with things sooner.
I still think that every class should have some form of buff or assist to help people. Maybe guilds would start actually paying some attention to what their members get up to. Until something changes, if something changes, remember that clerics can and do use their heal as a weapon, guild war interference is one example of that.
And I believe Game Hermit is quite right, focussed fire should kill anyone fast enough that they haven't a hope to survive even with heal.
