Marian Xen economy

As we all know. Marians economy is failing like adelines. I have adviced some solutions for gms to take caution of

1. more fair xen events, ex. tier events 2 xens to everyone. not like pox were high lvls tank and grab all the xens
2. A meeting with mur or toasty. We need to discuss events with the head gm of events ti figure out how to solve this xen drop problem
3. Increase drop rate, xens barley drop so the few who have sell high.
4. When xens are so shortage people have no choice but to buy high price so adding some xens would help.
5. Dont buy high priced stuff, no one NEEEDS to aoe or get a pet just use a cleric or a poyo pet.
6. Dont be desperate, If u rly need a xen badly dont be desperate, see when the next xen event comes and wait it out, buying xens high priced will make it worse
7. Increase sucess rate, with xens failing people are more desperate to buy more, maybe a sc increase xen sucess like in other games, i.e shayia, WoW, etc.

Post your thoughts hopefully gms will listen to us and help fix this economy or at least have a meeting with us. ^^

if there is a shortage of xens then to bad, its the economy problem
when u have xened gear, u shouldn't just keep it forever, give it to some1 u know
if there aren't many xens, its cause we don't use m wisely..
oh, and , just incase u guys forgot, XENS ARE RARE ITEMS , theres not many cause they are rare..

lol @ pooch, it wasnt the same like in ade in the eariler days.... i know since ive looked at threads whining about xen prices during the early days

in marian, prices are rising in a very unnatural way... since we didnt have to w8 for map/job and etc updates our players are lvling rapidly.. we already have about 4 warriors, at least 5 archers, 2 rangers, 2 wizards, at least 6 temps and we got out first sin couple days ago... aoeing is rampant in marian and the unfair event scheduling between the servers isnt helping...i mean ade held a xen event couple days ago, and marian ppl thought they wer gonna have one too... turns out we werent and some ppl wer mad...

oh and heres how xen rose in marian in a comparison to ade in the early days
- begining ade: 350k..... mar: 400k
- after couple of weeks : ade: 350k (a gen price,wasnt there so i had to infer from previous threads) mar:600k
- after couple of months: ade: 600k.... mar: 700k( less than 2 months 4 marian actually)
- now : ade: idk (im not in ade anymore but its still pretty high).. mar: vendors are selling 1.5 mil =.=

Any Zen event would be great! I have to agree, the prices of many items is outrageous, but we have a choice. Pay it, or go get some yourself. I grind pretty much solo, and it does take a long time for zens to drop. It may take me a week to get one, however, in that time I get a lot of other stuff that I sell, and for a nice profit, so I can buy zens if I choose to. Personally I like the system the way it is, no price caps, and keeping zens a rare commodity. Afterall, if everyone has +6aps on everything, what challenge would be left?

well... .... yeah xens are rare. they are supposed to be rare. they will always be rare. ..

and its the PLAYERS who are jacking up the prices. i think letters about prices should be addressed to the community and not the GM's.. thats sorta like asking ur mom to clean your room, its up to YOU *the community* to clean this up.

i dont think there should be a price cap either, if people dont want to sell for cheaper, they shouldnt have to. this is botteling down to personalities and how ppl play thier RPG's.

I know in my community of friends, xens are given for free, gears that are not bring used are passed around. I have always had fun even when my gear had no +. the only +5 i have ever had.. was borrowed. i gave it back when i out lvled it. giving free gear makes me happy :D if im not using it.. why keep it?.

I have also seen those who are out to get all they can as fast as they can. it's these people who will rise the cost of items.

Free will is part of life and RPG means you can take your fantasy life and do whatever you like *within the ToS*

I personally dont believe the GM's have anything to do in this matter

Present price on Xens in Adeline server is from 5 to 8 Mill. We got you beat! Bwaahahahahah!

If anything, the thing that needs to change most is peoples almost sexual attraction towards Xens. But that's probably not gonna happen, at least not for a long while. But besides that, sedfvgt (I had to copy and paste your name xD) brought up a good point about the nonexistent wait for new maps/classes etc, and it's effect on this, another,similar, point on that would be how the window for the average player (One who migrated from Adeline) for starting a newbie char and starting to need Xens is alot smaller than when the first server opened. I haven't been here since Day 1, but alot of players probably had the oppourtunity to store up Xens on the Adeline Server for a time before the community figured out how necessary Xen's were for a (comparatively) fast level up. The problem here isn't the rare drops, but the fault of us players for going to fast and wanting to settle into the old rhythms before the Server can acclimate. Can't we just sit and pretend to smell the scent of the tree in "Arcarinas Square's"?

And one more thing, about how some people (I'm not trying to be derogatory or mean here) are comparing this to the Real Life economic troubles and using this to justify intervention: America (And all the other nations) are not the world of Xen. Nothing is dependent on Xen's economy and Xen's money flow isn't large enough to be damaged in the way that Earth's has. People aren't going to lose jobs, houses, or family pets to this. Maybe if the Xen Economy was tied to a first world economy then intervention would be mandatory, but until that day, we don't really have to do anything. It's still a game, right?

Fact is that Entropy is right, people have been rushing this game. Grinding nonstop rather than enjoying it for what it is. With that comes the fact that now everyone needs Xens in order to continue to grind in optimal conditions. I.E Maps that aren't suited for your level or higher level maps for more exp. Reality is, Xens are a necessity but giving hammy downs to players isn't the way to solve this problem. It's a game after all and its meant to be a challenge. No need to go crazy just tough it out. We should be lucky we even HAVE events like POX that give away Xens. Most games don't even go that far and they let the players decide whats best.


This is the same situation. It's not up to the GMs to fix a player run economy, but rather the players responsibility. All the GMs do is try to make the game a little more fun by holding events. Thats the bottom line, period.

If u log on in-game in adeline server, you gonna see by yourself what going on with the economy, unless u did it already. As you can see, the economy of the game is quite messed up atm for the Adeline server for now. As for Marian, i was expecting that since they put this server up! If u find the prices too much crazy in adeline server, try the Marian server which has better economy for now(who know what can happen).

I agree with my wife....xen's are supposed to be rare items that most people don'y have an abundance of. I personally think that every1's dependence on xens has ruined this game, especially on the Adeline server. I whole-heartedly believe that the GM's are not be pointed at to bring about some change in people's ways of thinking and selling. You can't afford xen? Start farming, selling/trading items, etc.. Whining is the most counter-productive way to do anything...ask my kids^^.

I have played for one year on Adeline..and even before the "kronHack"(or whatever it was), the prices of xen were increasing. It really is all about the people selling items. They are the ones people see and say, "hey, that's a high price; I think I'll start selling for high prices, too". Then you get prices increasing just because people want to see the profit they can make. It's not about supply and demand, because you don't REALLY need these items. It's all about people's greed.

You want lower prices? Refuse to buy at high prices until vendors have no choice but to lower them. Pretty simple. But, it takes a whole community to say, "No, I will not pay that" for it to work. I tried to voice that opinion on Adeline, but it seems every1 wants to pay high prices(or some such ridiculousness, because prices are INSANE). I have pretty much commited myself to not worrying about xens on Marian. I wasted a lot of time and got pretty pissed with the whole situation on Adeline. My Marian experience I want to actually be fun and worry free...the way a game should be. So i started a neo who's going scout. that way I can just kill stuff and not worry about having to have the defense to AOE.

And honestly, if you see a shop up with xens for 1.5 on Marian, are you actually going to buy it for that much? If so, your bad.

a simple solution like by friend quintin said to me, put xens into the general item store. this will make krons the center of the economy, which is its intended purpose in the first place. as for the SC item to improve xen success rate - i think because its a chance issue, it is not transparent and people will be skeptical over whether or not it does help. to me - it sounds like a scam already XD.

1. Kron are not the center of the economy. People are. People decide what things are worth, not the money.


2. Fewer Xens=Higher Price. DUH. Quit buying them if you're going to complain about the price, you don't NEED them. You WANT them.

3. An economy is always in a state of flux(in other words, it will always fluctuate).

4. The new server will take away from the number of people adding to the pool of kron in circulation. Give it some time. you'll see.

I dunno about that "time will tell" thing there.....Adeline's economy is in worse state now than 3 months ago when it happened. And I really don't see it changing at all...xens are still over 7 mil each, AP gears are through the roof(try buying an AP6 lvl 100+ gear, you'll see what I mean), all of the other items have skyrocketed, and everyone has money that is basically worthless. I still haven't heard a viable solution to the dilemma, and I have listened to opinions from a lot of people. I guess the best advice is wait it out.....but that's getting kinda lame, especially when you're coming up on your next set of gears that are worse defense than the current ones you wear because you can't afford or find enough xen to do the job. I mean, total bummer...but like other's have said...you don't NEED the xenned-out gears, you WANT them....I know I do...kinda the way you play the game, actually. Just now the xens are more in demand than they were then, so they are harder to come across.

Wish some of the people out there with hundreds of xen would come off them...but why should they? They have a right to not sell the things they worked hard for...I just hope they put them to good use, and they don't just sit around in storage looking pretty.

I still think the bottom line is...you want lower prices, don't buy the higher prices. Even if it means you don't level like you used to. It's supposed to be about having fun playing, not stressing out over not having the best gear.

Ah, stupid people with no grasp of basic economics complaining day after day about Xen Stones and greed. Gotta love it. There's a reason why it's a prevailing issue. Simple increase in money supply and inelastic demand of a product - in this case, Xen Stones. This isn't english class. Want and need are the same thing if people are willing to pay the prices that they are for them. It's "worth it" if they're paying the price. Simple as that.

But, hey, other than that... keep whining and complaining and whatever else it is that makes you happy. Oh wait. It's not. It only makes me happy. I guess ignorance isn't bliss, after all.

This is kinda funny everyone complaining about high prices of xens. I dont see a problem not even on the adeline server a xen sells for 6-7mil now, before the hack they were sold for around 1 mil. but right now with all the extra kron in the adeline economy its just as easy to make 6-7mil as it was to make 1 mil before the hack so i dont see what the big deal is. A good economy is not one with low prices but one with stable prices and xen prices are more stable now then they were before the hack

hi, i have beed looking for wood and leather. The holloweenmoon bears, i have kill more than 500 and have not got xen stone. what is the % of the drop any one know. Other thing all agot for the is 2 leather, big deal

i agree with trxsta i didnt have any ap gears or even +2 gears untill lvl 60
If a new player just looks around on the forums from time to time they will find out that they can get fp, wood or leather at lvls 30 till 45 without having ap gears.
Making 6mil is easier for my lvl 45 scout with just +1/0ap gears then for my 95 rogue with all +5/6ap gears
