Ok so I was talking to a couple friends of mine about Fiesta and the download and we were trying to figure out if we could download Fiesta on to a 8gig flash drive and then download it to any computer from there. Because for me I have to dowload Fiesta to my computer then install it so would I be able to download it to flash drive and then install it to another computer or multiple computers, because it would be nice to save 40 min to a hour without haveing to do the first download. I think that this will work because if I just get the game on the memory of my flash drive then plug it into a computer its just like adding another 8gigs to the hard drive, and I mean install it from the flash to the computer because then it will have all drivers and graphics on computer, WHAT DO YOU THINK CAN IT BE DONE?

Good news and bad news, from someone who tried it.

Yes, you can put Fiesta onto a flash drive. Either the raw download, or even the .exe.

But...you can't put the Launcher there. Due to pathing, the launcher automatically goes to the hard drive of the computer you're working on. This also means that if your flash drive changes drive ids (ie, it goes from G: to H: ), you have to completely reinstall or the game is broken (alternatively, you could re-path your flash drive, but that's murky and could damage your computer if you don't know what you're doing).

This is something I wish they'd fix, but, considering the average person's knowledge of computers, its probably safer if they didn't.

if u have an external hard drive it would be alot easier. my fiesta runs from my ext. HD via USB. All you would have to do is hook the ext. HD to each comp and just copy the files over .. 1 download and you can install as many times as needed.

Putting the download on the flash drive does the same thing.

Then he should have no problems .. ive never tried on a flash drive but the launcher goes to my ext. HD so if its the same thing he should be able to do it without problems.

you can put all of fiesta on a flash drive and run it, if you put a OS on it.

Think some company makes flash drives already w/ pre-installed linux on it, cant remember name of it though.

an external HD would be like same thing, its just alittle bigger, and can hold more

eh .. well there doesnt need to be an OS.. I dont see why a flash drive would be different from an ext.HD but i have around 8 or so MMO's on my ext. HD and all of them run directly from it. but as for just transffering the program itself I dont see why there'd be a problem u kno. Id say try it .. when the destination folder somes up while downloading fiesta set it to the flash drive. when its done check its there and try to put it on the other comp.
**try at ur own risk.. >_> im not liable for any of this xD but i think it should work :p

You can copy fiesta setup file into a flash drive or an external hard disk to install on different PC but if you don't wish to install into your main drive(Drive: C), change the destination folder during the setup(for example, from C:\Program Files\Outspark) to your flash drive, let's said it's an E drive so it should look like E:\Program Files\Outspark)

What you can/should do it put the installer that you donwload on the flash drive, then download all the patches manualy, and put them there too.

Then it's a simple thing to patch, too.

ok to make this short aparently no one understood what ethan asked, YES you can put the install file on a flash drive then use that to install fiesta on any computer, ive done it alot considering i dont want to wait 10-30 min to download it again, but the problem with that is if its old you will have alot of patches to install after you install fiesta.everyone else , he didnt ask if you could install fiesta on a flash drive or ext hdd , all he asked is if he could put the setup file on a flash drive that way he can install fiesta on other computers without downloading the setup again.yes you can, you can do it with any setup.

But on a more serious note, those that have played starcraft have looked for a similar solution.

I don't know if the same method can be applied here, but it may be possible with a little regedit and a large-enough flash drive. DIY project, anyone?

p.s. Wiz = Necromancer? They DO summon skeletons after all.. >_> jussayin' ;D
