Unable to equip after lvl ing up

Became lvl 20 cleric but unable to upgrade to new weapons or armour appropriate for lvl 20 cleric. Tried to change to new class High Cleric . Shut game off and re initialized . I can unequip old lvl 15 equip and can re equip with same old lvl 15 mace and armour.

I think next armor set is level 24-25 dude ..I might be wrong though

When you reach lvl 20 you are not yet a High Cleric. In order to lvl up your class from apprentice to high cleric, there is a quest to complete. See Sean in the Forest of Mist by the big pond and he will start your lvl up quest where you have to defeat your own double.
Once you have succeded, you will now be a high cleric and will be able to choose either a new mace or a new hammer and will then be able to visit Smith Karl in Elderine to purchase approriate level gear.

i think your trying to equip stuff for high cleric. you need to do the shadow/lvling up quest. go to the forset of mist, kill some creature unitill you pick up the "Shadow key". then run to the knight near the lake in the forest of mist, and hell say you may want to lvl up, before doing the quest. just ignore that, i made it just fine. be sure to use what ever scrolls you have. and equip the low lvl mace. (trust me you want to). After you get into the shadow castle (or what ever it is) your shadow will attack you, and will have massive hp. after he/she forms. you have to attack him till he runs away. then equip your bigger mace. and follow along killing everything insight. just have alot of pots, and stones. if i can do it, you can do it.
