Updating client forever?

Hi,

This has been happening to me since March 31, 2009. Every time I load up the launcher client to login and after I enter my password, the launcher proceeds to download patches. It continues to download patches for hours and hours (4 hours non-stop), and it is STILL NOT done updating the client. The launcher says it's downloading 20090319 001.xz and 20090319 002.xz. I understand that these are patches from March 19, 2009, but I downloaded the game .exe file on March 29, 2009.

Is this normal? I had already uninstalled the game, redownloaded the .exe file and reinstalled the game. Same issue. What do I do now, just wait for the patch to finish downloading and installing? I am using Windows XP and this game was working for me just earlier last week.

No, I do not think....that this is normal. For my Mac, patches only take like max 10 min. It's probably because of your internet speed, or how much GB is left in your C:/Disk, or main HD. >>; I haves Windows XP too.......

yeah, mine too. i type in my username and password and then it starts to update for like, 3 hours, then after a while, it just fails >< i've tried 5 times and now i uninstalled SoS and am downloading it now again. someone help me please!!! FML!!!

I need help too! I tried downloading 2 times already. and when ever I have it load it always say it is loading patches, it's getting annoying. Plus it already been 2 hours 34 minutes since i have launched.
I check my internet speed is 54.0 Mbps and Secret of the Solstice only requires DSL (128kpbs) or better or DSL (256kpbs) or better. Mbps is faster than kpbs so did I do something wrong?!
I haven't played Secret of Solstice since Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp which was like the beginning of the summer! Someone please help us! (And me!) cuze I'm sooo sad that I can't play it.
I also checked my RAM is 512MB which is the recommended setting. So what should I do?

I too have been having this problem, however it started yesterday. Has anyone found a fix for this? Because it's impossible to skip the patching process, so anyone with this problem is completely unable to play. Any help would be much appreciated.

I to am now having this problem - I was lagging a little so I figured I would restart my computer. Well when I tried to log back into SOS, after i enter my password, it goes to updates. I waited all night last night and it failed. I restarted it again before I went to bed, woke up and it had failed. Went to sign in again, and now its doing the update again. I have never had problems with sos, so not sure what to do. I did notice last night, that the update was going WAY beyond todays date. It was weird.

I eventually got the launcher to work. I had to remove the game (uninstall it). Since I already have the latest .exe file, I used that file to reinstall the game. Once the game was uninstalled and reinstalled, I logged in again. Surprisingly, the updates took only about 5-10 minutes and I was able to play my game again. Weird. But now, I'm experiencing another problem, which I'll post in a different thread (http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2227001).

I'm currently re installing and updating my game - the weird thing is, it didn't start the updates at 2007, it started on the 03182009 update. So I dunno whats going on now, I guess we will see if it works.. :/
