Question about Magic Burst

why does everyone that is a mage say don't empower damage or CD for Magic Burst? It makes me feel dumb for thinking about empowering Magic Burst which I didn't do yet:(

im 79 mage i have it Maxed DMG cuz its your only aoe till lvl 60 and in the 6*'s and on u still use it alot i would even say do both CD and max DMG but mages have alot of skills they can put skill points too... Basically its not good for pvp but its good for Parties and grinding

well @ 67+ you have nova+inferno, which leaves most things dead, and occasionally u can throw on magic burst, but spamming 3aoes will give u alot of aggro, and could easily end up dead faster then usual.

max damage is ok if you want a helpful boost in aoe power pre 67, but after 67 it is almost not as useful.

its just like magic missile, @ lv81+ you will NEVER use it for anything but pulling mobs maybe, so the empowerments help @ lower lv, but later on completely useless

max CD takes off 0.6sec, really not worth it lol

if you dont mine spending money on skill reset scrolls, you can do what you want for empowerments to help you @ what lv you are now.

Does it make me feel dumb at lv7x with it? No. I love to work off some aggro to frustrate other aggro competitors. Why? Improve their skill of aggro control as well as mine (and yes I know anyone can go and say I should restrict my spam of spells), and not restricting my AoE power-plays because that is my class role. It's like saying I have a +9 wand and people telling me don't use it or I'll grab aggro. Uh.... lame.

It's a challenge for competitive aggro. Brings the best out of people in PvE, especially tanks.

As a part-time mage myself, I use MM all the time. When I solo that is.

Actually .6secs makes a huge difference. But since you said it's not worth it, then I'll assume you're not a pure AoE mage that frustrates people.

I guess I'm a speedy mage. I don't seek hard hitting spells in .8sec casts which to me is a lot including lag/spikes/animation flaws.

I think I still would use MB. 3 AoE spells, 3 secs per tick.. how about a 4th one every 4.4secs.. I love my AoE power, I care less for restriction in a small party made of 7sec stun wins.

its good, and with fast cooldown you can dmg the monsters quicker, hello,nova, inferno, chaincast nova again, and then spam magic burst. hehe. pewpewpew ;D

yes spam away with that >.>

(btw more efficient way is nova > cc > inferno > inferno > nova)
and after nova > inferno > nova most everything is dead, if not 1 magic burst and they are. (and thats talking about BR mobs w/ their really high Mdef, monsters before BR die usually within 1 nova + 1 inferno, and some times 1 magic burst)

I say empowering CD on MBurst is just pointless it adds so little and yea if you do MB>nova>MB>CC>inferno> MB>inferno>MB>nova its still used a lot but because of the time it takes to cast your aoes waiting an extra .6 seconds really is not gonna hurt you in any way.

Because it would be better to save those points for later spells. But really it's up to you. The advice I followed is to only empower the dmg and CD of magic missle. At 49 I empowered Magic Blast, only using 5 points. I now have 7 unused points. I'm not going to use anymore until I get Nova.

Edit: It never left the topic. Everyone talked about reasons they do/don't feel you should empower magic bursts CDs. If you only wanted quick yes or no answers you're not going to get them, because people will explain why. You're not going to learn anything from quick yes or no answers. However if that's all you want, then remake what ever topic you seek answering in a yes/no poll so you wont have to read why.
