Hey guys,
It's been happening more and more lately.. Level 17s joining a Mara's KQ and rushing ahead blindly often without announcing it. Usually it's fighters trying to get everyone to swarm with them while the clerics get held back healing and rezzing everyone (and then get cussed at for 'not keeping up.')
I try to tell them how bad a strategy this is esp. for clerics and mages but they say 'Everyone is alive right? So it's good.' They don't really care that I burn through 5 or 6 pots just to get to the fakes.
I really don't want to abandon my party every time a rush starts but I don't want to encourage this behavior either.. What do you do? Am I wrong in saying rushing this way is selfish?

I agree though there is a way to get through w/o burning through pots but you need scrolls which not everyone has. I just think that some of the fighters need to calm down because with the rush you also don't get any of your quests done.

If it's the level 17s, then you have to realize it's the people who just came out of king slime, being used to being top dog and pushing the group to the end. Since this is no longer the case (I know it, you know it, and they'll soon figure it out) just do what any self-preserving healer would do in a group.
Let the noobs die.
If they die enough times, they'll either get tired of running KQs, or they'll learn to stick with the group. Either way, you win.

It'd be fine with me if they died the problem is they end up ruining the KQ for everyone.. I guess there's not much you can do about it really.. Other than let off steam on the forums ^^

If the fighter runs out of your range and dies because you stay with the majority of your party(if you're cleric).. that is their loss. It is not your job to chase after them and keep them alive (and/or die with them) if they want to use retarded tactics. That said, stay with the majority of your team. If you don't, you will inevitably get mowed down as they bring 10 npcs to you at once, screaming "ZOMG helpz me plz" in a fashion that's all too similar to my sig block.

Actually I didnt see what the point of rushing during Mara KQ anyway. There is plenty and enough time to finish it why people have to rush?If in Golden Hill KQ I can understood but mara is no need,it is just killing other people esp mage and may causing the hold KQ failed.
And also do not provoke cleric in KQ esp when he is the only one can revive(mara KQ some is full of apprentice cleric who cant revive). What i try to mean ya some cleric will follow the rush but some will rather stay behind protect their friend(compared to mage cleric stand higher chance to survive) make sure all alive.
Not flaming here, usually it is fighter who ask to rush, some cleric(esp low lv) rush togather with them and success the KQ,then those cleric think it is the way to success the KQ so they become the 1 who asking rush during KQ.
So if next time,if you those rusher want to sucide let them go,this is also let you save money(not burning pot and stone),anyone will learn from the pain.

Eh, rushing Mara is actually a viable strategy. Granted, just wildly running off like an idiot doesn't really help...
But if you take your main tank followed by a cleric, put the squishies in the middle, and get another tank and cleric to bring up the rear, you can pretty much run straight to the fakes with 0 deaths. I've seen it many times. All that's required is skill, which is not required to simply kill everything in your path.
However, you then come to the realization that on average, at least half of a KQ consists of total morons or complete newbs with no clue what they're supposed to be doing, which throws my whole "skill" theory out the window.
In the end, it's obviously safer and more prudent to just do Mara KQ normally without rushing, but it should be stated that rushing is only a bad thing when it's done improperly. <-- Most of the time, lol

Best thing to do in my mind? Get a friend in on it (mage or fighter works well) and inform them you're doing a Mara Slow Run (http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15480), and that you will not be rushing, and that anyone who doesn't want to rush can come with.
You'll get more Exp, die less, and when you pick up Revive, you'll start picking up all the stragglers too.
