Obtaning Skills?

Ok, I'm rather new to the game so my question is how does one go about obtaining skills.

I leveled and chose two production skills however when I right click them and bring up the production menu, I can't make anything even though I have the ingredients as it says I have not yet obtained the skill.
Any help here would be appreciated.

you have to buy the skills from Rubi in order to use the skills.
