Definiton Of "SPAM[MER]"

iSee a lot mates complain 'bout Spamming.

Anyone know what the REAL definition is?

Some tell me its "just taking multiple shots on one character."

Some tell me its "Taking random shots when there is just a group of people in front."

iHonestly think its just "Timing."
Example :
Rogue STUN + Poison a MAGE.
MAGE uses attacks and hits Rogue.
[ROGUE BLINKS FROM ATTACK]
MAGE throws another Attack when Rogue TRIES to get away.

spamming is firering ramdom shots and skills into a group of ppl and hopeing one hits its basicly shooting blindly...

It doesn't really matter what someone's definition of spammer is since everyone does it anyway. It does afterall, take more than just 1 attack to kill someone, so every time you kill someone they could call you a spammer for hitting them more than once in a small period of time.(Happens to me a sometimes.)

The problem is no matter how you define SPAMMING eveyone at some ponit will be called one. There now must be many post reguarding the same topic. I say just play the game and forget what other people think you are (Spamer ect...)

well... there are many types of spamming
i only call people spammers when they do the following


abusing fast moves and low cool down time skills
example of these moves are
mage's wind skills
archer's weak attacks
the most annoying of these is Shaolin Multi-Hit Skill
very low cool down time, people use this skill repeatably,
this skill is also very hard to break after a person has gone into multi hit animation (even after a successful block)

Camp and Spam
basically choose a sweet spot and spam skill or attack blindly
(small signs, pits, or raised ground with lot of people running around near by)
most of the time, these spots require the enemy to jump to get to the spammer
examples -lot in death match map
famous example - death match bottom pits in the left side and the right side of the map

Spam Party
this is mostly apply when a team is full of range units
move together in group and blindly cast spells
once u get trap... there is little to no chance of escaping

Guerrilla Spamming
abusing fast movement and powerful spells to pull of a hit and run attack
this is happening a lot now with second class aoe skills
example
summoner = tele-meteor
elementalist = tele-blizzard, tele-earthquake
(you get the idea)

my definition of spams/spamming/spammers
cause i am after all "Spam God"

Umm. LOL.

This camp and Spam is the scariest version of spam I have encountered. Around 70% of the time, (in death match) it turns into a spampit. Spampit meaning EVERYONE is inside this little alcove (either on the right or the left) just giving it. It's nearly impossible to get out, and is just... just hectic.

My god I just faced this. An all mage + priest party vs an all melee party. All the mages was doing was casting freeze at random when the priests was doing thier damage spell...it was a nightmare for the melee.

Yes, but for mages the archer will probobly be able to shoot a weak arrow whilst the mage is still casting, thus, the attack cancels and the cooltime... timer begins >_>

thats why u cant spam skill as a mage

i think the only reason people complaining about archer jump strong is because it is easy to pull off, thus people abusing it
the other reason other combos arent consider spamming is because very little people do them
only a few pro who pull them off
like phoking- warrior aerial jump weak chain combo
or galad -priest dash weak chain combo
they are just as annoying as jumping archer

Well like said someone there's many type of spam, and that's cuz our GM dont understand our skills need a delay.
And some others skills need to be "fix it" like shaolin's combo and the speed.
When they done all those changement, we can have a very true PvP and stop spam.

"Jump Spam".....well it's coming from a mage, so what do you expect? -.- It's a pain alright, but its skill, not spamming...unless the person is just jumping straight up and down and shooting CONSTANTLY.

For me: Spamming = noobs with no skill just jamming those magic/atk buttons in one spot CONSTANTLY

Timing shots like the ice-fire combo isn't spamming, its just timing. -.-

Espically when iGet grabbed + Skill then GRABBED + Skill and repeated..
iMean c'mon!

Trapper is the worst SPAM ever.
If you get caught you're practically dead. - Thats why there is NO GM Trapper.

I real thing is, Can you really call some one a spammer with how few abilities a character has in this game?

With so few abilities and spells per class, we can only come up with so many ways to kill another class and thus is forced to use the same spell over and over again. It also doesn't really help with your 2nd class spells can out right replace your first job spells, giving you the same or less number of usefull abilities.

In the end, I can't say I care much about so-called spammers. Myself being called a spammer a couple times for winning outright, I believe it is just a way for those who are a tad sore on their bums to take out their angst and express their shock at the failings of their "spam".

My advice? Use block. You will win. You will next be called a nub, a noob, or a n00b, depending on said "spammer"'s spelling skill level. This shall be repeated over several rounds, during which it is healthiest to laugh your head off at the losing side's raging antics.

With this, you will soon be a glad and sprightly player once more, never to be weighed down again with the painful knowledge that "spammers" are knocking at your door.
