I was searching around randomly and found a page about mages on Stratagy Wiki. It had an interesting piece of information:
They have a lot of MP but lack HP. Just like Priests, Mages have low defence and hit points, but they get very strong magic attacks at the job change, and at later levels they get MP regeneration, a teleport skill, and a buff that increases the party’s mp temporarily.
MP Regen might be Improve Mana Recovery, but we haven't got that buff yet...
