what is better for a fighter? I just reached lvl 20, and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what is the best weapon of choice? a 1 handed sword, a 2 handed sword, or an axe?

Tank focuses on defense, and will mock/kick the monsters and take damage for the more fragile players whey they attack. Being a tank is a very important job, and many DDs/hybrids play tanks, but few people (at least on Teva) actually ARE true tanks.

DDs are damage dealers. They rely on tank to protect them and then unleash as many attacks as they can on a monster.

i personally wont choose 2h sword...

As a experienced 2H sword user, i love that weapon.
It might look weak because it's low damage stat, and unableness to equip a shield with it, but pure damage is not the only factor of it.

First of all, the aim. Better then axe. You don't want to always use aim scrolls to hit properly, won't you? Especially when spamming skills on a heavy monster. Shouldn't it be really bad to miss key skills, like fatal slash, devastate, whirlwind and power hit?

Secondary, the attack rate. Also better then axe. This also pushes abit up for the huge damage a axe does. Spamming skills fast enough can be the key to defeat some tough enemies. Personally, i have less problems against enemies with a 2handed sword, then with a same-level axe.

well that was just my opinion...i m a pure end tank fighter...n i always n always use 1h sword n Sheild.....there are times like when i m duoing GH..or GOC...my def w/o sheild is sufficient for me to survive...at that times i always use axe...well i have tried 2h swords too..but for me axe is much better...the only reason i switch from 1h sword n sheild to 2h is to kill fast...n u should know the difference between dmg in axe n 2h swords...well n abt miss..as i already said i use axe on special occasion only...i dont mind using scrolls for it so no miss n the dmg of axe covers the attack rate of 2h sword...

but as a 2h sword user who always use 2h swords i understand what u wanna say...but one can easily reach to t3 scrolls production level n can produce scrolls for them..so if i personally wanna be DD fighter i'll go with axe....

If you want to tank 1h and shield. If you want to be the most over powered class in game axe :).
