View Full Version : Gold spammers = bad news for MMOs

This is bad Outspark, I don't really care if you pay attention to the community (hell I don't even play this game), but this could be a great game and the administrators are (inadvertently?) allowing it to die.

if you did play the game, you'd know better
all your post does, in my opinion, is show that you're another person who thinks they know something that they don't, and felt the need to troll on a forum for a game they admit they don't even play

wooo lol I played this game back when you had to grind to level 30, i went 31-33 in the abyss where I had to walk to vine tomb or luminous stone 2 (. In fact, I thought it was pretty cool when they released the level 79 cap and had that leveling event for the Teva weapons. (I always wanted Tetsu's sexy axe :p).
So yeah, I don't play this game right now because in my opinion it's broken. That doesn't change the fact that I love the PvP here, so...cartooney- it's a great kickback (or would be if it was fixed).
Ciao Fiestafans, hope somebody wakes up to what's happening here.

He has a point, just like the first sign of extinction, the population grows smaller. Even when things seem outrages to believe....they always leap to tell you what you've been denying is true. So before going all mad crazy with his thought just keep an eye-out.

How is that being a troll :confused:
Based on some of the more recent threads about issues with this game, I think a lot of people might agree with this.

Gold spammers have been here since the very beginning of Fiesta... Which version of Fiesta have you been playing? And BTW: Right click + block.

ive been playing for well over a year now
moment i logged in i was confused, cause i had a few people advertising gold sell websites
took me less than a minute on how to block them, and taught me a valuable leson, on how to add/block/party invite people

I remember penguinkool from so to speak "good old times" when everything in this game have sense and mobs were really "hard to kill" so i can hardly use in direct of OP word troll.
Right now i found OPs post more truthfull as many will to admit <vide spammers in Uruga> and to be honest i have behind me right now apart of Fiesta three other MMOs and i must pointed very clear that in those games gold spammers are almost "species incognitus".
EU Fiesta - no spammers at all <thanks to IP block they have no access there, but there is always chance that they might try to get around this by set up spammer EU server.>.
Rohan - similar as EU.
After two weeks of play after fife months not accessing there i saw only one spammer at whole map.
PWi - <look above>.
There was once one spammer witch was very quick kick off from game and vanished without trace.
US Fiesta - Gold spammers paradise.
When you first time log in to Roumen as newbie instead of players chatting greet you tsunami of
"buy at www. buygoldbyusandasgratiudewestealyouraccount.com".
IS THIS really proper "Welcoming Comitee" for Fiesta newbies?
I known that block option is right now ONLY avilable solution but let us be honest, before first time player will be able to figured out how to clear his/her chat window he/she will already undertake bad attitude toward game.
But to be honest who should fight whit spammers right now?
GLs witch were at the beginning as vanguards in such fights - PROGRAM TERMINATED<apparently>
GMs - too few to deal whit spamers at all servers.
Concluding.
US Fiesta will suffer from gold spammers activity because it is clear that staff lost already control over what spammers do and there are no signs that anything will change in nearest future.

Yep, it is only going to get worse too, the other week someone had a thread about when the gold they bought would get to them.

I miss when [back then] CSR Cretz would ride around on his pretty pegasus, rapin' all the spam bots in sight. ;-; [heh back then Steam still existed ;-;]
Cretz come back to usssss.
We need you! ;-;
Destroy these evil things~! Even if you're a GM instead of CSR...keeeeel them all D:
I love how the first few people with the balls to voice their opposing opinion are completely bashed, given names, etc etc... but in the end, people will start realising the truth&&eventually see what that icky "troll" saw. :3

you think they "allow" the goldspammers to be here?
as far as I can see, there are LESS goldspammers now, than 6-8 months ago. and believe it or not, they are trying to get rid of them.
making some lame statement that they allow the goldspammers is kinda ... nvm im not gonna finish this post lol.

Indeed, those spammers are annoying. Because of the speed that they can spam and the number of spammers within a town, even blocking them gets frustrating.

I remember when the game had no spammers. Of course, that was closed beta. -.- Bah, then when open beta was released, there were still few--but then they started growing and growing-- like a colony of ants when you leave out sugar out in the open. D:

I hope US Fiesta implements this soon. I agree--I don't think it's proper that this is the way newbies are greeted. I've tried other games out before, and being met by spammers really takes my fun out of the game.

@Niiro.
Depend what is your definition of better community, but i will say community enviroment of EU Fiesta is much better as here.
However you need explore this by yourself because my opinion can be different as yours or anyone at this or EU forum :).
@kouturoq@
No one want to believe in prophercy of doomuntill for everything is too late.
Same thing is here, day by day pop up new threads reporting another in game bug without any spark of interest from OS UNLESS this have something to do whit CS.
I will not be surprised when one day i come here to see how situation look and find nice sticked announcement "NEGATIVE THREADS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED"... ridiculous?, perhaps but not so impossible as this might look since they wiped out feedback section.
EDIT:
@Centrix
English EU Fiesta run since four or fife months <if i am not mistaken> and not so long ago <two days to be clear> they rise cap to 79 but in some features they are slight ahead of US Fiesta.

Actually I think they have different servers, like, English, German etc. So it really is best to just call it the EU Fiesta. lol
And yea ;-; his "deathday" is in a couple of weeks.. I usually do something small, last year I drew a charcoal potrait of him... it's cheesy, I know. But hide will never die D<[/offtopic]
*Edit* Katee you mean level 89 cap, EU fiestans were hitting lvl 79 in December last year. I used to browse their forums a lot. >>;

You are right, and i need to looking at those forum more often as well:rolleyes:
I will not be <by the way> surprised if they will have another cap rise after three or four months from this day AND really hope that there will be no mysterious hindrances witch will again delayed cap rise for US Fiesta...
EDIT:
Right now EU Fiesta have four German servers and one English server<called Bijou>

I heard it was extremely better than ours, GM's on everyday and not just hanging around showing off their SC stuff but discussing improvments or the game with players. The community is very good. I remember like a billion more good things but I just can't remember...

I dunno what the big fuss about spammers is, I only ever see two at max in Roumen, big improvement from when I used to play a year or so ago. As for the comparisons to other games, Rohan for example is absolutely filled with bots and hackers - and I haven't once come across a bot since I started playing Fiesta again, they're all gone.
Yeah, yeah, OS and Fiesta have faults, but stuff with this tone isn't going to help or trigger positive changes. Why not actually use the suggestions thread to give constructive criticism if you really feel it's important?

I suppose because almost everyone loves to complain, nothing's ever good enough <.<

Please... before you start spread gossips about other game try gather at least necessary informations to backup your accusations.
And was those flames really necessary?
I known that OS supporters fell more and more angry because constant growing up critic over in what way Fiesta is moving but starting flame war will not help to solve those problems.
This community is in off divided and creating further rifts by smearing or flaming people witch want ONLY see REBIRTH of Fiesta will lead only to her final demise...

naw it just means there's a serious lapse in game management. It's not that difficult to stop this, just doesn't seem to be a priority with Outspark.
Outspark could bring on interns to kick out the spammers and do some of the menial maintenance work. In fact, I think spam control might even be doable from a remote location (ie. shouldn't have to be in San Francisco).
I may be wrong, but I think there are more than enough people in the community that would dive at the opportunity to be an intern at OS.

Before anyone jumps on me, I'm quite aware that Fiesta and OS have problems. Two points, however:
1) I'd like to point out that the gold spammers have been there at least since I started playing, which was over a year ago. They're a pain in the rear, of course, but they're hardly new, and they're easily blocked. (Actually, I'm seeing significantly fewer of them these days, juding from the fact that I only have to block one or two every couple days instead of a dozen every time I log in.)
2) Perhaps you could enlighten me, because I'm thoroughly puzzled: Why continue to hang around here if you don't play? If you find the state of the game so disappointing, why not just leave it and move on? I'm not trying to be abrasive; I'm just genuinely puzzled.

I disagree mostly, ya its bad... But I think it's more of a compliment to Outspark's success... The only games that are worth trying to make a real buck on (gold spammers) are the games that are successful. People will always try to make a buck off of games, its just the inevitable you can only do so much to fix it...

I'm going to be 100% honest here as a player, not as a CL, and from this post forward I will not do any moderation to this thread, but allow others(some who already have) to do so, in my participation as a player to this thread.
Gold spammers quite honestly, are in every MMO. Every single one that hits OB or gets it's official release gets gold spammers. You won't ever -not- see them in an MMO, ever. That's a promise from me as a player(and I've got a lot of MMO's under my belt).
I have to say though, that Outspark does clear the spammers more than in any other game(I've witnessed it so many times it's crazy), so in that I feel that this game is more secure from that alone.
Most of the other companies only take care of gold spammers upon notification of them, which really does nothing to prevent further annoyance by them. The impact of Outspark's influence on this I've seen by watching them literally clear a town out(Elderine) of gold spammers solidly for an hour and not seeing any more spammers there for quite a while afterwards.
Long story short: You'll get bombarded by spammers in every MMO, Outspark actually combats it actively though.

Well, I can't say for other players, but personally, I have moved on to another MMORPG (not because of spammers :D). This does not stop me from reading Fiesta forum or post on some threads. 2 reasons I am doing it:
1. I still care, about the game and the community.
2. I still think Fiesta is a great game and has potential.
Reading the forum keeps me updated about the game and hopefully one day when all the issues that drove me away from the game will be resolved and I'll gladly return to the game then.

Well this game that I am playing now has no spammers. None. It might be possible that it is still a relatively new MMO and also not as well known....yet.
Another possibility might be cash shop items can be bought in game or with in game currency through a conversion system. And in game gold is not that hard to get. This imo greatly reduce the temptation and need to buy gold from spammers, thus making it not worth the spammers while to 'sell' their gold.

Well, as a player, I'd venture to say the game is very obscure or as you also said, very new then. Any game worth it's salt has spammers, and like I said, it disheartens me to see them, but I know so many companies don't take an active stance against them, and that's worse in my opinion.
Outspark does though, and that's something that pleases me greatly.
