Just started the game a couple days ago. I like it so far.

One problem I'm having is that I can't see /shout. I don't think that it's just no one talking because I've been on for HOURS and haven't seen a word other than what some players say that shows up over their heads in the little box thing.

I tried searching in the settings for an on/off switch that i might've accidentally hit and can't find one.:confused:

Does anyone know what I might have done?

You can check and see if you turned it off or not. That said, move your mouse over the chat window.. click on the small blue box with the white letter 'I' in it. If it's grayed out, it's 'off'... if it's a brighter color, it's on.

Each of the tabs at the top: 'normal', 'guild', 'party', and 'whisper' can be customized... so you can have it off for one, and on for another. Make sure you have the tabs set as you want them, and give it a whirl - make sure you do this when you're in a city incase there's a limited amount of people in the area you could be in when testing.
