Level 19 was excruciatingly slow for me but once I reached level 20 and could get the armour & weapon upgrades, it sped up a LOT.

No offense meant here, and I typically in games hate people that point the level difference out but in Fiesta it has to be mentioned repeatedly since the game itself is different at different levels.

If you think 19 was "excruciatingly slow" do yourself a colossal favor and get out of this game right now and go find a different game. I personally like Fiesta but it is one of the WORST grind fests you will ever run across.

Most games the higher in lvl you become the more exp you need to get to the next level and even the more exp you lose if you die as you level up and in this Fiesta is no different. But the difference is that in other games as you lvl up the higher end monsters give _much_ higher exp so in general you have to fight the same amount of monsters just harder ones.

Fiesta on the other hand has a very small exp gain once you get past a certain point but the exp requirement per level will start to excellerate fast in needs.

My cleric is right now lvl 48. She needs only 728,055 exp to lvl up to 49 (and yes I said only and the number was not a typo). As far as I'm aware this is the most needed for a single level before 50 in any mmo. Next comes my exp per kill.. which totals in at a grand whopping 200-800 per kill depending upon whether I am in a group at a high end area or easier place. Do the math on exactly how many monsters I have to kill to lvl up once.

Remember how I said "only" earlier? We have lvl 60s in the game now. The amount of exp they need to make lvl 61 is roughly 5x that. Guess how much exp they get per kill? 300-1000 per kill.

It only gets worse from there. The exp you need to earn after a certain level vastly outweighs the extra exp you get from fighting the maximum area your group can possibly handle. The exp gained from _certain_ quests can do a nice reduction on the overall amount needed but the vast majority of higher level quests give piddly exp, and at the same time the higher your lvl the less quests that are available and the more likely to find a bugged quest that can't be turned in.

Overall.. if you think going from 19 to 20 was as you said "excruciatingly slow" this is NOT the game for you.

not true because to most people lvl 19 to 20 is the hardest lvl up
it was the hardest for me as well but now i am just speeding by lvls

For me, the hardest level was level 26-27. Not quite up to changing to someplace which gives better XP, not quite low enough to be happy where you are. No decent quests.... Nothing really. Other crunch points are at levels ending in 9, just before you get all your shiny new toys that make grinding so much less of a chore you barely even notice it.

In the end, perseverance will get you through the tough times, and when you're fed up with getting toasted by monsters that are so much stronger than you, just toddle somewhere easy with a mage-buddy, and start taking out the monsters and revelling in how powerful you are.

When all else fails, farm for crafting materials. Guarantee if you farm out a couple stacks of meat, or summoned beast leather, you'll be a lot closer to leveling by the time you're done. (At least pre-30)

Do every kingdom quest you can. They give a huge chunk of EXP. The exp from normal quests also starts to become worth it around your level.

At that level in asheron's call 2 i needed well over 10 million. It might have been 20 million. I'm not really sure. I don't remember the exact number because it's been years and years, but i'm pretty sure it's more than in fiesta.

News Flash to Game_Hermit... there is 0 KQ winning chance after you are 46. In fact as far as I am aware since Open Beta started no one has EVER won either the Honey or the Dragon KQ's and after that 46 mark the players can no longer get into the Robo KQ. There is only a 1/10 chance of winning the Robo KQ. In other words KQ being the 'answer' to lvl issues stops working once you're too high for Golden Hill.

Second News Flash goes out to Grefeld... this thread is about clerics since its in the cleric forum. Clerics do not make good soloers after 4x. Sure they are good enough defensively when combined with a bit of end +ing and their heal spells that a 48 cleric can tank naked trumpys. But their DPS is so woefully depressing compared to the dmg needed to kill the monsters that they could farm / grind at that 'farming for items' just won't work.

Third news flash dedicated to absolutechaos... 750,000 exp divided by 300 exp a kill means roughly 25000 kills are needed to lvl up. Add in that you lose over 7k exp every single time you die and it will be a long, hard, annoying grind. Do not even think that lvl 19 no matter how 'hard' it was will ever relate. Beyond which at 19 you can still take the soloing option, you could take the healer in a party option, you can even take the PLVLing option. 19 is nothing. -_-

PS: That was for lvl 48 to 49. I have a friend that made 60 other day. You REALLY do not want to have their lvl grind ahead of you anytime soon.

News Flash. If that was the case, then how come there are guides to completing the Mini-Dragon KQ, as well as info on the items from the treasure boxes that can be had there? =) Turn down the dis-respect factor.

Ask the person that made the guides if they actually have completed it since we've gone open beta where the number of people that can join is 1000x what it was during closed beta. Answer will be no.

In order to beat those you need to have 1-2 damned good tank, 1-2 damned good clerics, everyone else be good mages. It never happens. You always wind up with a bunch of low 40s in Honey or mid 40s in Mini. You always wind up with a bunch of fighters, an archer or two once in a while tossed in, and three to four clerics. If you're lucky you get a mage or two tossed in (usually low lvl ones cause the high lvls already know there's no point). Beyond that you almost always wind up having people drop out the moment the map is spawning them over due to map load errors. Then people look around see who's there.. goodbye a few more people to deliberate suicide.

30 minutes to kill more monsters than on the slime or gold hill KQ's with the same map where you have to kill every single one does not give a lot of time to spare. You have to AoE every single thing en masse its not possible to setup a perfect group since people will always join that messes up the class formula or level formula.

PS: You're right though I should have added the joiner "not doable SINCE Open Beta" on the end.

.. If you say so. Funny how I've asked hundreds of people and no one's ever seen it.

Well then I'm sure someone will take me up on the following bounty then.

Bounty: To whoever can produce the first screenshot of a completed Honey or Dragon KQ (since Open Beta began only counts) will be awarded 10s just for that screenshot if they are on the Teva server. (Can't do anything about other servers since don't have money on them..)

I will be looking forward to being proven wrong and deprived of that bounty from my coffers. Please someone prove those two above me correct.

I wasn't talking about the high level person. What i said to them came after their quote obviously. The first paragraph was directed at the OP, who is very much in the level range that KQ's are great for.

Funny how there are tons of Mini-Drag items all over Apoline in shops. I guess they just fall from the sky though, right? I am only 47 so joining a Mini Drag might get be yelled at which I won't deal with so I cannot give you screen shot. However, I can provide you with screen shots of the hundreds of Mini-Drag items rolling around.

As for Honeying, I do not know if that was ever completed. But my guess is no... or I haven't seen/heard of it yet.

I dont think a single group has cleared the Honeying KQ in Closed Beta but Im 100% sure the Mini Dragon KQ got cleared a few times in Closed Beta by the high leveled people who made it that far before CB ended. But as for Open Beta alot of people have managed to clear Mini Dragon KQ. Ive cleared the Honeying KQ only once though (Done with 5 mages) 3 fighters and 2 clerics one being myself. Archers only screw up that KQ make it much much harder to clear since they are bascally useless in this KQ. Keep in mind this is the only KQ they are useless in though :p

I mightve been in the first group that managed to clear Honeying KQ but Ill never know if I was in the first group though since there is no way of knowning.

I'll trust Mint since I know Mint enough to know wouldn't lie on this. I still wish someone would supply screenshots though even at a cost of 10s per KQ final boss death shot.

I've been in Mini-Dragons that got to the Dragon with 12-14 mins left... but they've never been able to get the boss to even half health thanks to its stomp ability that one-hits even tanks with the hp/sp buff on... then goes on to kill the DPS and clerics making the clerics constantly reviving people and rebuffing. >_<

Best I've ever been able to get to in Honey was the third ring but far more often they get stuck in second or even first ring since there's almost never enough mages in that one.. which is the one crucial class for it.

Maple Story should be mentioned. Because it IMHO Is the biggest grind fest EVER. I played for months and got as far as a level 33 assasin. ( This was with Party Quest and average play 4 days a week ).

Mint thank you very much! I'll be waiting for a whisper for the 10s bounty from you in-game on one of those two chars you list in your Siggy.

(Weird thing is I could've sworn I asked some of the people in those screenies about it and was told they'd never seen it done. >_<) Now maybe I'll actually bother joining those Mini Dragons more often. ^_^

The bounty of 10s still remains for the Honey quest.. anyone who can post a screenie from it please post one.. first come first gets (even though I'm now too high level to be able to do that one)!
