Man, feels like a long time since I posted a thread. Thought I give people a break from the constant nagging and outrageous complaints that had marred the boards as of late. I present to you a simple question: Do you prefer to solo or party while questing?

Personally, I prefer to go it alone about 80% of the time, and for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I'm a very private sort of guy. Not anti-social or anything like that, just someone who enjoys solitude. You tend to understand things a lot better when you think about them alone.

Secondly, I feel having someone tag along while questing slows me down in achieving my goal, especially when I used to play my Cleric. The constant pressure of having to ensure the well being of someone else as well as my own was so annoying! Even worse was when I died trying to save the hide of the person who caused the problem. I would rather from my own mistakes than the mistakes of others.

Last, but definitely not least, soloing allows you to really showcase the true potential of ones class. Think about the first time you Deva'ed a large mob, Nova'ed numerous monsters, or kited an entire room in the Abyss. There's nothing more satisfying than showing off the abilities of your char, and making others feel jealous of it. n.n

Anyways, those are my thoughts.

Well, welcome back. ^^

Actually, I disagree with this statement. I find that seeing others' take on a situation can help me open my eyes to other possibilities I may not have seen or seen clearly alone.

I like keeping others alive while ensuring my own safety. I find it a challenge. I suppose that's why I hated BR with my party members almost never taking damage (not to say anything about the mindless repeats) and welcomed Dragon's Tomb which allowed me to cross that line between healing and aggro stealing.

While I did very much enjoy the first times for all of those*, I think that a cleric, at least a cleric with my build and my own temperament, is best showcased in a party. Especially a party with crazy party members who decide they're invincible, or in a guild war/PvP situation where the opponent has to shout "GET THE CLERIC!!" because your party members just WON'T DIE! >:3

I also feel that questing, especially a quest that requires drops, goes much faster with a party. I enjoy developing camaraderie with my fellow players while questing. Regardless of drop rate increasing in a party, if you enjoy being in the party, the time will just fly by.

Anyways, those are my thoughts.

Always a pleasure to read your posts.

*I cannot speak for Nova because, as I have mentioned in other posts, I haven't the makings for a mage player.
