if there's a character wipe, i hope u guys know what is gonna happen.

-many high lvl close beta testers are gonna quit because of their hard work lost.

-town center is going to be extremely crowded, no doubt and there wouldn't even be room to walk, we will just be clicking on other players.

I'm sure the staff realizes the impact that a character wipe will have. These guys no doubt have experience with games like these and surely already understand how the system works.

As for your reasons - do not assume what any player will do. They will make the choices on their own. And the game is going to be crowded no matter where you play once they release the Open Beta. That's why they will hopefully have more servers to play in.

EVERY Closed Beta I've played has had a character wipe. It's not THAT big of a deal. You already have the experience in the game, you know what you need to do for quests and whatnot, so you WILL still have an advantage. Plus, with some other games, when they get more popular and need more GMs, they usually pick people from the Beta ;)

If someone truly did sign up with the purpose of helping in testing the game, a character deletion is of little concern. It is expected to happen, so all of us should not forget that this is a testing phase, and there are other priorities than someone trying to be a higher level than other players. Your "hard work" in leveling up is at your own risk.

I concur.
Although, one good way of assuring that most of the CBTers will remain is by offering rewards, and I know just how well the system should be done.
Though, don't forget, there was an event that says that the one to reach the highest level will receive a prize of some sort. Therefore it is only natural for them to work hard.

Think... you didn't sign up for this game to lvl up... you signed up to both help test it, and to be the ones to find out any bugs/glitches/errors

You need to look at this from the Dev teams point of view..They are making a shop, where you buy the bonus lucky balls and such, in order to keep the game free to those that don't want to support the games financially...
They will not be able to do this if you have millions of LB's in the market.. as people would get them in game instead of paying RL money for it.

Hence the expiration date.

Lucky balls have no expiration date :)

What's the point of having the balls if they're not used? Besides, if the GMs want to get rid of all the LBs it can be simply done within a blink of an eye.

hold on you do play these games to lvl up, even in closed beta. or what we will all just run around at lvl 1 and test only basic mobs. somone has to get to high lvls to test end game content. to do that takes alot of time and effort. that or when we get to high lvls we cant play coz none of the bugs were found. im not saying char wipes are a problem because i know they are a must. just dont be so hard on the high lvl people when they say somthing about the wipes. coz in my book they deserve alittle credit and maybe some kind of reward.

technically leveling up is part of testing the game because if we didn't level up, then we wouldn't have known that skills like accuracy for rogues weren't working properly (it was supposed to work at lvl 26, but it didn't work for me until lvl 33)...so leveling basically helps with testing out all the skills for each class...

very true, if i knew there's was gonna be a wipe, i wouldn't of wasted my time clicking 6000+ F1 to gain lvls (30+) on each characters, if there's a wipe, we should be able to keep our items and geta reward, it could be plain stupid to make the game better for everyone and not get anything in return, the GMs should just do it themselves then.

It's like this: All players who signed up for this game did so to test it out. Test, that is, for game bugs, exploits, system errors, etc. and, yes, to gain levels. After all, how can you say you tested every aspect of the game without raising your character(s) to the higher levels to see if any bugs existed there?

There may be a wipe and there may not be. That is the risk with closed beta testing. Granted, it is not always the case but it is something you should be prepared for. And remember, this is free - so although you may have a sentimental attachment to your character you've invested nothing of value other than your time, which you've generously donated by volunteering as a beta tester. ^_^

All I can say is keep notes, try all the classes, see what you like and what you wish you could change and then come open beta, if there's a wipe, follow your notes and build an excellent permanent character!

Well said, Serric. Nice summation of your position (which I happen to agree with).

My greatest hope is for a more knowledgable player base after the game goes OBT so that we can compose real, reliable class and quest guides (although I have a feeling the quests we see now are going to be tweaked...just a hunch). I'd start putting some together now but I hesitate to post toooo much info since we don't know what, if anything, will change about stats, maps, levels, etc.
