Hi I'm new to the game, just 1x. I've read a Fighter guide but it didn't say much about skills. I want to spend skill points on Fatal Slash cooldown because it seems very effective. Is it still good in the long run? Also which other skills should I spend on and how?

I and a bunch of other tanks use Fatal Slash all the time. it makes monsters die faster while the DDs wail on it, and makes your odds of staying alive go up.
on the other hand, as a DD (Axe, two hand) you need to have it as well, since the tank's can fail, or your tank may not have the skill.

as a fighter you should have all the skills, though it's okay if 2-3 are 1 level out of date, as they are VERY expensive.

as for what you empower.. stun. if you've got points left over, Mock or Kick if you're end. if you're DD, your main attack skill (Power hit)

DO NOT empower Stun. If you do your soarly going to regret it when you hit 43. If you want to empower a stunning technique empower DEVASTATE at 43. If you empower stun your just wasting empowerment points.

For Fighters spending empowerment points early on is a bad idea. Save them for high level techniques like Power Hit, Vampiric Strike, Precision Strike, Devastate, Whirlwind, which come at higher levels. Empowering these skills later on can really be an asset. Adding 1 power point to devastate adds 100 dmg to the technique.

Although the skills later on are good, i dont' think empowering Stun is a bad idea, it's never a bad idea to have two stunning skills and use them over and again, also keep in mind that stun doesn't always seem to take effect so having a backup one wouldn't be to bad :).

Empowering Stun is NOT a bad idea at all, especially if you are a lowbie. Not every one gets powerleveled to lvl 43, since thats that case most ppl have to WORK thier **** to lvl 43 so that they can get devastate. In the mean while that extra 3 sec in addition to the 5 sec of stun, might just help the low levels with everything from MARA kq to Marlone to ZK.

Also take note : Devastate's extra 100 damage doesnt mean that you DEAL exactly extra 100 damage to the mob. The mob itself has defense stats, which WILL dampen your attack. However since devastate is an AOE attack your attack will effect the mobs surrounding you, in this case empowerment of attack is worthwhile.

Also take note (2): High level technique like vampire strike is not worth adding points to. The cooldown time is very very long for empowering points to make a difference.

Note (3): Concussion and Devaste skill can be used one once at a time; You cannot spam stun nor use them consecutively without having to wait for cooldown.

-P.S.: My discussion about stun only pretains to my build, i have a str/end build. For those with end/str build additional stun time does not matter much, since your end will dampen the damage anways

When you use the higher level semi-aoe stun it spends the cd on your normal stun so no you dont get TWO stuns you get one. Keep that in mind. you cant "spam stun"

yeah i found that out right after i posted, like an hour later i got to 43 and got the skill :p, i was like damn someone's gonna pick on me for that ROFL and dang i was right.

YET again that is your personal opinion that empowing stun is a bad idea, for it can ease your life until u get devastate and like someone else said above not everyone plays till he reaches level 40+. Plus the fact that devastate even though it is a sure stun (or so it claims to be) it costs 6 time more sp than regular stun, and if u r spamming all your offensive skills u might find yourself short on sp.

In low levels stun can save a fighter in many situations.

It doesnt ease your life that much....I empowered the damage and cd on my main attack skill which aided me in dropping the mob faster so if I did aggro another I'd down that one before needed to "spam stun" there for wasting sp, and you do know mobs do have a high chance of resisting the single stun when you begin to grind a higher gap later on so no point in spending your points in that. I'd advise only to spend 5 in basic damage or save and see what you use most than what would be most valuable to enhance.
