I have been playing for a while. I still remember the first ping of a Xen stone I earned while I was getting mobbed and a certain unnamed player in my party who was not even around me swooping in to steal it and run away. I quickly figured out that Xen stones were rare items used to enhance equipment to make the game easier to play. Most of us know by now what the FUNCTION of a Xen Stone is.
However, here is my thought of the week:
What is the origin of Xen stones and what is their composition?
I have not seen any other threads like this so far, so I am throwing this out there. I am hoping that we will get more story and quest content in the coming months. I am looking for something epic hopefully. Until then, I am throwing this thread out for discussion, funny or serious, about the origin of Xen Stones and what their composition is. I know we have some good writers out there so my hopes are high.

On the sun-swept plains of the continent of Xen, the majesty of the sun unveiled its radiance. A delicious peace filled the air, like a freshly baked pie that fills your nostrils with its wondrous smell from afar. Two children skipped and played like children do. Jureah, the first child, wore a crown of gold and had fair hair and shimmering blue eyes like the crystalline ocean. Plutan, the second child, wore a coat of the finest and most beautiful materials that accented his shocks of raven hair that was darker than a starless night.
The children grew together in power and majesty. Jureah grew into a beautiful goddess whose very smile was enough to create a new star in the vast universe. Jureah was graceful and had beautiful white wings, espousing her virtue and purity. Plutan grew into a strapping god with immense power and chiseled handsome looks and stark black wings the protruded out of his back, like an ominous warning.
One day, the young god and goddess gathered underneath the shady Arcaninas tree. Plutan had been working diligently to prepare a gift for the beautiful Jureah. For years Plutan had bottled his growing love for the young goddess inside him to the point that it was going to explode. Plutan worked hard for this moment to prepare a gift, and with it, a confession to show the power of his love. Plutan created companions that would proclaim the beauty of the goddess in a never before experienced way; a way that he himself was not able to accomplish.
The appointed time came, as Plutan awaited under the Arcaninas tree with yearning and nervous anticipation. The sun passed through the sky on its daily trip, and alas Plutan still waited. Trails of brilliant light of the deepest orange, red, and yellow promised to bid farewell to another day as Plutan, now sitting, gloomily contemplated his day’s experience. Suddenly, the sunset’s flavor vanished as the dimming sky lit up like a noon day. Here pranced Jureah with a smile so big that it literally lit up the sky.
Plutan wondered why she was so late and why she was so happy.
Jureah had created the most wonderful thing to keep her company. Jureah had often been lonely as her only companion was often busy using his magic to create new things. She held in her hands a new Poyko, cute as a button. The Poyko squealed with joy as she tickled its belly. Jureah held out the Poyko to show Plutan the new found object of her love.
Plutan became jealous and with a violent gust, storm clouds gathered over head. Lightning crackled with the ferocity of the new emotion of separation. Darkness filled Plutan’s eyes as the fury and pain screamed within his heart. What was this feeling he experienced?
Plutan stood from his sitting and in a fit of anger summoned a ferocious creature called a Cowlegend which stole the Poyko out of Jureah’s hand and proceeded to devour it with a sickening crunching noise.
Jureah screamed and banished the Cowlegend to the other side of Xen. Jureah was crushed as the object of her love and affection was stolen from her and brutally devoured. She began to cry and shouted that she hated Plutan and never wanted to see him again. Her tears fell and clinked onto the ground, forming beautiful clear cystals.
Plutan, filled with despair at the thought of separation, lost himself in these newfound emotions. He began sending out bolts of power and destroying things around him. One of his precious created gifts for Jureah was destroyed and lay lifeless on the ground under the Arcaninas tree. “What have you done?” Jureah demanded. “You have taken the life of two things now. Is this what you worked so hard to prepare for me?”
“I created these children for you to give you song and to keep you company. I did this because I love you. I have failed though, and I will never see you again,” replied Plutan.
Dark clouds and lightning covered Plutan. The god started to disappear. “Don’t go, Plutan,” Jureah shouted, “I have always loved you, too.”
It was too late, though. The beautiful crystals created by Jureah’s tears had now turned red. As Plutan disappeared, an ominous creature came out of his mouth and quickly ran away, taking bagfuls of Jureah’s crystallized tears with him.
Jureah fell on her face and started to cry once again. She no longer wanted to exist. Plutan’s gift gathered around Jureah and started making a strange noise, a noise never heard in all creation. “This must be what Plutan wanted to give me,” sobbed Jureah, “it is the most beautiful thing my ears have ever experienced. Bless you children of Xen. You have given me hope once again. I will protect you from afar. I want you to build a city, become strong, and learn to protect yourself. I fear that something dangerous has been created this day. I leave you these treasures.”
Jureah left and took the Arcaninas tree with her.
Thus the inhabitants of Xen were born and the city of Brynhild was built.
From the tears of loss and the pain of separation and unrequited love, a mysterious item was born. The born item is one that is filled with power, hope, and remorse. This newborn item is what we call a Xen stone, a child of the Jureah’s and Plutan’s tragic and continuing conflict.

Origin of Xen Stones
When the continent of Xen was first created, the founders of the 4 houses sat together, sketching the plans for the newly formed continent. Every thing was perfect. They knew how to divide the power amongst themselves. Knew how to govern their subjects. Knew how to run the economy. However, one thing they did not have was still in need of creation.
The source of that runs the continent.
The leaders called upon the greatest of alchemists and wizards from all across the world to help manifest such an item into creation. As they came, ideas were spewed forth by the mouths of many. After months of discussion, they settled on one power.
Souls.
The souls of people, which live on forever, will forever power the continent. The wizards called upon dark and sinister magic to conjure up what they needed to take the souls of people and condense them into a single item. Souls however are very precious to one's life. If you take the soul, the body withers away. So they took the souls of those that committed the harshest crimes known. These men screamed with agony as their souls were ripped from their bodies. Their hatred towards those who did this to them grew. Their need to kill them grew. Their need for blood grew.
As the wizards condensed them into the item, the unexpected happened. They envisioned the bright light of the soul to be the colour of the item created. However, the hatred and blood lust towards the wizards were so great, it tainted the item to red. With the power that was left from their disappearing existence, they destroyed themselves. Them taking this action, shattered the item into countless pieces. The pieces scattered throughout the continent, to be picked up by scavengers and monsters.
They say when one of these items, these Xen Stones they called them, dropped, the screams of the souls could still be heard in one loud instant.
These items held much power, so the reward for finding them was high. People from all around the continent went out on a search to gather these items. For one day, these pieces of the power will be brought together again, and create the item they created.
One day, the Xen Stones will be brought together again, to create The Xen Stone.

Xen is a virtual machine monitor for IA-32 (x86, x86-64), IA-64 and PowerPC 970 architectures. It allows several guest operating systems to be executed on the same computer hardware concurrently. Xen was initially created by the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory and is now developed and maintained by the Xen community as free software, licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL2).
A Xen system is structured with the Xen hypervisor as the lowest and most privileged layer.[1] Above this layer are one or more guest operating systems, which the hypervisor schedules across the physical CPUs. The first guest operating system, called in Xen terminology "domain 0" (dom0), is booted automatically when the hypervisor boots and given special management privileges and direct access to the physical hardware. The system administrator can log into dom0 in order to manage any further guest operating systems, called "domain U" (domU) in Xen terminology.
Modified versions of Linux, NetBSD and Solaris can be used as the dom0. Several modified Unix-like operating systems may be employed as guest operating systems (domU); on certain hardware, as of Xen version 3.0, unmodified versions of Microsoft Windows and other proprietary operating systems can also be used as guests if the CPU supports x86 virtualization (e.g., Intel VT or AMD-V).[2]

I guess someone liked the word Xen and used it to name one of the most important items of the game.

~
one day 2 squires fount a secret path way to a cave full of millions and millions, almost endless amounts of xens, at the time, no one knew wat an xen was, so for a while, they just messed around with them, then they discovered a way to make there armor stronger with it, they then made the first +1 sword, then they xened the rest of there gear.
soon after, a neo seen them coming out of the cave, so the neo went over there and seen all them xens, so he ran back to town and told every1 about it, soon everyone knew about the xen stones and wat they did, people begged the 2 squires to make there amor and weapons stronger, but after afew weeks, the squires got annoyed by this so they made a plan~
the next day, people went back to the cave to get more xens, but they disapered, now one knew wat happened to the xens, and wen they tried to find the 2 squires, no one could find them
but there was a small note they fount, it read "we are tired of xening everyones gear at anytime, so we had a mage cast a spell hiding the xens in monsters, so only the brave people that deserve xens will get them.."
no one knew wat to say or do.. except to start killing monsters!
the first squire became the blacksmith in bryn, and the other one became the blacksmith of jot
the mage later became the alchemist
and that neo? well no one knows for sure, but everyone thinks hes alastor~~
