View Full Version : Pet Mount Skill Spamming Speed

So, we archers/rangers benefit from one of the fastest skills in game (Wind Blow) and most of us have boosted our MEN stat to take advantage of this.
So I get on my adorable Pet Mount today and start running around killin stuff.
Is it just me, or is my skill spamming significantly slower on the pet mount than on foot?
I guess it would make sense, if the skill animations are different, than your maximum skill speed would be different also. So am I imagining things? Or you think we're really slower on the mounts?

i see im not he only one who has noticed lol.
Yes, this is the sole reason why i do not carry the mount anymore (got rid of them the first day they came out :P)
i thought a Pow/Agi mount would be beneficial to me, well i test it out and it does turn out the skill animation for skill casting ALOT slower. Not worth the few extra stats if you ask me, might as well take out my Men points and just put it all into POW or something

Yup. Same effect. :/
Which, um, sucks. Even if you happen to have a pet with INT/AGI stat. <<;

I'm acolyte but similar thing happens when I wear my perma panda suit. It even slows down bless and fist up.

Well I hope they fix it... otherwise one of the archer's advantages seems disappeared.

not really a few extra stats... unless an extra 41 attack on my stat is small for u

I've noticed it on my cleric. o.O'
Although I personally like the +3 agi, it helps me more than hurts me, as my tank [who lends me the mount while we're aoeing] doesn't take much damage anyways. >w<'

yeah i noticed it too but i like the extra attack but it'd be nice if my skill spamming speed was the same...

all about movment speed for me but the marginal benefit of the +1 movement is negated by the big marginal cost of the slower spam speed of windblow.
Maybe they want me to spam marked point? :O
Not really complaining about it much since i can always get off the thing and kill the old fashioned way (^.^;)
offtopic: who made a thingy named EVIL BOB ALI TOS? im curious.. =.=

the only way to really benefit from a pet is by enhancing it... i rather have a slower attack speed as i deal damage more... i kill faster as i deal more... plus the fact that at lvl 3 it gives a +3 extra movement speed for a total of +4

I will say that for me the skill casting have gone up a whole lot and also the fact that my men is highest for the wiz class makes it even better
on comparison a wiz full int can use 4 volcanoes before having to move away from the mob
while i can use up to 6(if i want to push it a bit far) and still manage to get away while off the mount i can only use 5 before having to run for my life
and i can also use ice and 8 more skills before having to recast while the normal amount for a full int is just ice and 6 skills more
so yeah depends on your class but some do benefit from the pets casting speed

I know for sure I'd love to see someone survive in PvP a Lv153 Ranger using an Amplified Master Sniper Shot with a +6/6ap Battle Bow, equipped with +5 Strength Wings with Attack, three +5 Power Pearls with Lv5 Attack on each, Red Cow Bell, on Physical Attack Soul, a Lv10 Attack Increase Pet Buff, riding a Lv3 Tiger giving +15% Attack Rate Increase with an addition +12 attack...and somehow has a St. Patty Day Hat on. He also happens to get a Master Fist from his Paladin ally who also uses Master Howling and Powerlight on the Ranger's target...whew, dreaming such a thing almost made me unretire my archer right now LOL (I would do so if I actually got lucky to acquire all those items said).
Point being said...those of us who benefit from the attack increases have gotten alot of treatment at least. Even if the mounts slow you down, you still have Pet Buffs and Wings of Attack to look forward to owning (those two alone make a huge difference). We're like doing hax damage when compared to before. Although try out a lv3 mount, for they give that +15%% attack boost, it might make up for the lost skill speed.
Though with mounts I know for sure they benefit us melee tank-type characters. I suffer from less mob locking due to not flinching excessively. Not to forget, the dramatic attack increase they can give.
Classes still losing out the most in seeing damage (or healing) improvement are the Wizard and Priest rank classes. They only look forward to at least having more HP bonuses for now due to the lack of actual Magic Buff increases (only have INT).

ahaa maybe archmage with magic shield would survive that LOL !
wings, pet and mount are biased towards physical attack users and tankers xD it is just the way this game is.

Lmao! That would be such a interesting/worthy goal to suffer grinding all the way to 153 LOL
The question is if the money involve is worth that moment of pleasure ROFL
I didn't try a mount on my Templar or my Priest on actual battlefield. Though I could say the mov.speed would greatly help many healer I know who can't seem to keep fury and always be behind tankers. If it slow down casting speed, then the Healer just need to re-adjust himself to the casting speed. Unless the healer need to be "spamming" his MH/CH then yeah that would be a problem. But not something I need to do at all :p

Has any Assassins with 8 MEN tested this? I dont want to waste pets/items/money on a mount that will only slow down my skill spamming speed :/ I'm as fast as an archer so this mount thing might effect me aswell so im just curious if any other sins notice a decrease in skill speed (although 90% of them are AoE sins so they dont get to spam Dust Blade often enough to notice the skill speed -.-)
