How to get Pet Quest Items : share your secrets !

Lately, especially since the new quests came out, prices for pet quest item, who had just started to go down, have increased like crazy... So I tought it would help if people would just be willing to share their secrets on how they're getting pet quest items, even at higher levels. So here I will start with what I've found out so far.

[auto-drops] means that once a specific quest has been taken, quest items will appear in a little box on top of your screen.

Items required :

1 1/4 Pendant
Drops best in Brynhild Trisects and surrounding maps at Xenian level.
Mean market price

20 Aloe
Drops fairly well in Augilas Gorge, Mystra Hill and Mystra Basin. Seems to drop best at level 3x, just before the monsters start running from you.
Drops well in equivalent east and west Essene maps.

Marian : 20,000 to 50,000 kron

25 Apples
Will drop randomly with a medium-low rate from Mystra Hill to Shaio Forest. Drops best when the monsters names are white to you.

30 Butter [auto-drops]
Take the 'Request of the grocery man 2/4' quest from Jikey in Summerhill Street.

30 Cheeses [auto-drops]
Take the 'Request of the grocery man 1/4' quest from Jikey in Summerhill Street.

50 Firewoods [auto-drops]
Put away your murderous intent for a while and take the 'Gather firewood' quest from the Blacksmith in Brynhild.
Firewood will drop from Manner Rabbit in Death Valley.
Works at any level.

25 Grapes
Will drop randomly with a medium-low rate from Mystra Hill to Shaio Forest. Drops best when the monsters names are white to you.

Image Stones will drop randomly from Mythril Mine.

Said to drop with a decent rate from Krapun, Holloween Bear and Hawgs from Colrona Forest, Shylphaen Forest, Luan Basin and Cyoren Forest.
Your level should match the level of the monsters you're hunting when farming those (name is white). So at level 45 you still get good drops from Holloween Bears.

15 Salts [auto-drops]
Take the 'Request of the grocery man 2/4' from Jikey in Summerhill Street.

30 Strawberries

Drops in Mythril Mines from any monsters. Level 1 of the mine has the best drop rate. Drop rate will drastically decrease once the monsters start running from you at level 67.
Also drops in Mystra Hills and surrounding maps at level 3x-4x with a low rate.

5 Watermelons
Will drop randomly with a medium-low rate from Death Valley to Shaio Forest. Drops best when the monsters names are white to you.

Take the 'Hotel manager's request' quest from the Hotel manager in Essene.
White paint will drop from any monster in Engrave Path.

Thats correct u get tangerines in exchange for egg shells, but u dont need them for the pet quest.
And u might also wanna add that ssf and image stones are found in mythril mines, cause there is nowhere else u can find it. And i'm not sure but i think there was a quest for strawberries too I'll post the quest name, npc and monster that drops them when i find it. There is also a quest for the white paints they drop from the plant mob north of essene when u have the hotels managers request.

white paints is a quest drop in mystra basin, first map north of essene i think, and similar monsters. You need the lvl 26 hotel quest after you talk to the bryn hotel person the first time telling you to get the 10 red and 10 white paint.

Watermelons, strawberries, and apples, and occasionally grapes drop 2 south of cv in colorona or possibly 3 north of essene.

Aloe drops in augillas and mystra and equivilant level maps.

Corn drops from the trisects up to i think 1 map after where xenians can't go?

Leather also drops from halloween versions of star and moon bears and hawgs(not from the east essene halloween heart bears or grey hawglike monsters sadly)
Wood drops from kraupuns and hawgs

Fairy Powder drops from any fairy monster that's south of cv, east of essene, west of the trisects and even the long range attackers north of jot in the 1st 2 maps

and the 1/4 AND 4/4 pendants(is that right? you forgot one of the pendants not sure which) drop ocassionally in the low level areas of trisects, perfect for xenians and low level super xenians to farm

Jureah Pendants drop specifically 1/4 from Hi-jelly 4/4 from Poku Poku.

Wood and leather both drop from Halloween Stars/Moons, Krapuns, and Hawgs. Yes, they are both dropped by these mobs.

Apples, grapes, and aloes drop from Death Valley-Mystra Basin and equivalent areas. I think Sand Snakes and Dilogues might also drop them. Apples continue till Luan Basin.

Watermelons and strawberries drop from Death Valley-Shaio Forest and equivalent areas.

Corn drops till Mystra Basin.

Image stones and ssf drop randomly in the mythril mines in Cyoren Forest. Image stones do not drop in Cobalt, those are image stone pieces.

Firewood from the 'gather firewood' quest will drop from everything in Routuer Valley and similar maps.

None of the veggie girl quests have quest drops.

I was working on a guide myself, but have been too busy. I am gonna try to level my leather farmer to 44 and see if drop rates increase since I get about 1 leather every 15 minutes in Colorna right now.

Hope someone posts about best levels for fairy powder as well.

Side notes: 3 maps east of Essene is one of the best farming places. Giant poyos auto-drops salt and butter. Big Kubby auto-drops cheese and tangerines. Carrorabai (sp?) auto-drops firewood. I can collect my 10-15 item limit for each in 10-20 minutes. You will also get rare drops (not auto) like grapes, aloe, silkion, overmaross, Sirius star, and Hypermill if playing at a high level. For my lvl 98 Warrior, it is a one hit kill and collection is fast (which is nice if you are farming for your noobs and your friends).

None of the veggie girl quests have quest drops.

With the exception of the mine drops and the Xen stone, most items drop best when the enemies' names are white (as in, they're not too easy for you, but not too hard either).

Strawberries have a decent drop rate at 4x; I found I got most of mine while gathering leather and wood.

I found that even though my priest is well above the level for killing fairies, I still was able to get fairy powder at about the same rate as my level 40 apprentice. Firewood also drop occasionally from krapuns and the Holloween bears (I hate how the name of the bears are spelled incorrectly...). I got a lot of my strawberries in Colrona Forest while hunting for wood and leather. I seemed to have a higher droprate of leather and wood when I was around 37-38. I hope this helps!

the price has risen because the house stuff is dropping at such a high rate other drops are not happening as much. i am very unhappy i think the house quest is a waste i do not need any i wish yo only got them is you are doing specific quest not all the time or at least lower rate. Pet quest items drive little of enough before noit is bad !!!!

People are buying out of pure desperation of such a shortage because of house quest item drops.
A big tip for those that dont know where to go at super low levels, go to Essene, North map. Great for amazingly, fp,xens,fruits such as strawberries,grapes,apples,bananas. + aloes.

There are other quests to help with item drops.

Just something I noticed:
may seem odd to some, but North Essene AWESOME for aloe if you have quest activated. Also a ton of FP drop here too.
Cyoren Forest amazingly drops ssf, got a ton while farming my low lvl squire there.

Veggie girl's quest actually doesn't have auto-drops. That means that once you took the quest there's no monsters (or not any one known at the moment) that will drop the item in a little box on top of your screen. Auto-drops works with the same drop rate no matter what level you are. I've been told that if you take Veggie girl's quest, the fruits will drop at a higher rate (normal drops, not the auto-drops). I tried it on my warrior, but it doesn't work... I will try it on my lower level farmers to see if it works better ^^

i was farming leather and wood south of CV and for two hours i only got two maybe three of each and at the time i was a lvl 49 scout... havent tried it since cause it was disappointing :(

is there a better place to farm for them?? some hidden secret :) :)

Honestly I was getting the most drops between 37-40 in South CV on my app. I dunno if that helps any but, you might be a bit too high.

My last leather farmers got drops up until level 51. The pumpkin headed bears seem to stop dropping it once you pass 44 though, but the krapons continue. It varies, I have gotten as many as 6 drops in less than an hour, only to go back later the same day and farm for 2hours and get 1 drop. If south CV doesn't seem to work for you, got a few maps north of Essene to the maps with similar mobs.

I have a permanent leather farming scout(lvl 45 forever) and I don't feel like the leather drop rate is lower for me then for other people sometimes i even get leather faster then my friend who's using a lvl 3x squire not sure about the exact lvl. But maybe that's because i kill faster

Well me and my gf were farming on our farmers which are 38 neos in 2 maps south cv and the other day we got like 14 leather in one day from killing krapuns and those bears there and about 8 wood or so. I say the whole level 4x thing is actually worse drops. We werent even farming the whole entire day too. And thats why we are staying at our levels :P

I've done 3 full pet quests and made a couple of incubators. I've heard that leather drops best for level 44 several times, but I've never noticed that the drops get worse. They've always seemed to drop about the same from level 38 to 51. Some days you can get 10 or 12 and some days you will be lucky to get 1.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I farmed all 20 of my Fairy Powders in Shaio Forest with not one grape drop. I got a couple strawberries and apples, which I also got in Colrona as well, but no grapes there either. I know you didn't list them as being there but someone who posted above did.

Personaly and from speeking to other farmers I have noticed these things to be true...

1) The veggie girl auto quests have been nonfunctional for a very long time now, wish they would fix them then those outragious prices for aloe would start to go away.

2) The auto quests from Jikey in Summerhill Street in Brynhild and Jaypee in Essene do work but have a sequence to them. The butter drops from the Giant Poyo Poyos then salt drops after the quota of 15 is met (or it use to till a recent update kind of messsed it up a bit, but they do still drop, thankfuly). The tangerines drop from the Big Kubby untill the quota of 15 is met then cheeses drop after, that one hasn't changed.

3) Apples drop most frequently while I am out farming leathers and dont have an auto drop. Also the grapes tend to drop the most while im out looking for aloes in mystra hill lvld maps, i think thats about 30x? not sure lol I just remember that I got alot of grapes while looking for aloes and not other things.

4) Corn is defanetly a Xenian level fun fest item ( I sooooooo love making a Xenian and going around the baby maps smashing mons for this, shame it lvls so fast :P )

5) Fairy Powders drop from any fairy and can be gotten by any well lvled leather farmer. Also they do drop, but not as well, from the Highlights and Sprite in the North Jot area and have a very low drop % rate on lower maps due to the House quests.

6) Firewood can be gotten with the lvl 19 'Gather firewood' quest from the Blacksmith in Brynhild. It drops from the Manner Rabbit, Robin Fly and Toadmelter. All 3 are found on the same map, and there are several of these around SoS, my personal favorite is Saifield Forest because it's realy easy to get to, 2nd map out of West Essene.

7) Leather & Wood hunting is one of the most tedious of the farming chores, no auto drops here for this stuff, it's just a matter of a good mix of dogmatic persistence, luck and lvl. I find that optimum leather farmer lvl is at 44 to 45 the drop % rate is like a curve. It pretty much peaks at those lvls then dropping off greatly there after. I like to keep my farmer at 44, but ofc scout farmers have to be 45 since that's when they become a scout, thier drop rate seems to be higher but realy isn't, it's just that they kill sooooooooo fast, they are excelent for the leather/FP farming because of this fact. Also, I have noticed that if the map is full of people it afects the drop rate too. farming at a low time( for me its my night time and early morning) gives you a better drop % AND if you party with someone there you should be close in lvl, that also afects the drop % too.

8) Soul Stone Fragments and Image Stones are found in Mythril Mines, the SSF can also drop at a very low and totaly random % rate on some of the lower maps now because of the House quests. The optimum farmer range for these items is still being disputed lol but personaly I believe, like the leather farming, it has a % curve with the best drop % rate being around lvl 62. Here I prefer a squire for the job, slow yessss, BUT their deffence against the tons of agro keep them moving and gathering at a decent rate. Some like to deck out their farmer with SC pots and go it alone here but farming with a party is rather enjoyable and makes the time fly :)

9) Watermelons(the red ones) have to be one of the easiest non auto drops in all of SoS to aquire. They drop on the lower maps for lvl apropriat farmers.

Please remember these are just my personal experiances, and my farmer friends. Other farmers might have differant experiances. aannnnddd i begg forgiveness from all farmers for blowing our secrets but im sick of the insane high prices for the aloes and things these days. 1 mil for an aloe is just ridiculous and I'm now seeing it go even higher of late! :eek: and the only way to stop such things is to get a flood of product going that forces the price down.

i just killed 2 halloween moon bears in luan basin on my lvl 32, and got 1 wood, wen they are just about to turn white, they might have a better drop for wood/leather

Does anyone know where the Xens drop the best? I see some people put up 60 to 80 or more Xens and I rarely get one, just when I think I have leather and wood located it stops dropping, then there's the people who are rude with their pets and cut you off while your in an area trying to farm, I try to give people same space to hunt I think it's rude to get in a bunch of people and start mobbing to get all the loot.I get leather from the Halloween bears and the Hawgs (Logs) around the mines but that seems to have stopped it seems like they would get easier to get with lvl but it gets harder, also if you look in the store it has changed without notice and there's hardly any costumes and the lucky balls are outrageous

my farmer is lvl 3x, in 3 hours farming, i got 15+ woods, 5+ leathers, not mentionning 30+ watermelons, 3 apples, 1 grape, 2 aloe, 1 xen, 1silk, 1 star ... $.$

i kill a bit slow, but with some physical candies and maybe a bored healer for fist up, i could kill as fast as a scout (a friend paladin fist up me, and i killed bears in 2 hit :Q_ )

what i think it works? killin only one type, like only hawgs or only krapuns. that day, i killed only hawgs, stunning the aggros or keepin them on me and killin them just b4 i go repot. i dont drop them while running like other j***s do. they're lucky its a farmer, and i dont care if she dies, but watch out if i see u on ur mains in maps where i aoe, ill do the same to u >D, and it wont be weeds or flys >D

I'm a lvl 43 neo and i've farmed all day trying to get some aloe...i guess i should of never sold them all when i was a lower lvl....sigh* i regret that....well i stopped looking for those and i went on to colrona to look around for leather and it seems like the squid like things drop them ^^ they are the agros on the map...um and wht else have i discovered while farming....firewood drops easily when you kill the manner rabbits ummm and i figured out that since that i'm a high lvl it shouldne be dropping as much as it did 3 out of 4 manner rabbits that i killed dropped firewood to tht helps...

Are you sure you went the right way? Wavin Plains is East Essene and I just went to check. They're still in Wavin Plains.. You'll have to run around the map a bit because sometimes they like to gather in little groups. :3

I have a permanent leather farming scout(lvl 45 forever) and I don't feel like the leather drop rate is lower for me then for other people sometimes i even get leather faster then my friend who's using a lvl 3x squire not sure about the exact lvl. But maybe that's because i kill faster

Let’s say there are 80 total mobs on any map. On any given map, you will have between 1 and 6 different mobs. If you are looking for leather, you will usually have 1 or 2 mobs on a given map that will drop leather. When you kill a mob like a Krapun, it will respawn somewhere else on a map. Each time a mob respawns, it will be randomly assigned an item based on a predefined drop rate pool. So, when you run across this same Krapun again, it will drop the same thing, something different, nothing, or what you are looking for. You will find that certain items have a higher drop rate than others. Unfortunately, the most common drops are house quest items that are basically useless and are very heavy.

The faster you kill a mob, the more likely you are to get the drop you are looking for. Sometimes you will just be plain lucky. I recently got 4 xen drops in less than an hour of aoeing (I never got more than 2 in an hour from regular mobs). I have gotten 7 leathers in 20 minutes before. Conversely, sometimes you can be very unlucky (again, based on probability). I have farmed for an hour and only had 1 leather drop. Those are the times I go to another map or do something else.

Strawberries drop in the North Mythril Mine area (Cyoren Forest) lvl 39 for my Neo from the Big flys and yellow roads apples and an occasional Strawberrie ( my drops stopped at lvl 40 )

I just wanted to comment that I use a lvl 45 scout to farm leathers and wood, and that the number I collect changes from day to day, map to map. With the combo of my mount, spa eggs, and pow bell, I kill in two shots..and my intake of these items is slightly higher.

But... don't be discouraged if you only find one or two in a farming session, tomorrow you might find 6. The drop rate is what it is. As long as the monsters name is in white, you have the same chance as I do for a leather to drop.

So I tought it would help if people would just be willing to share their secrets on how they're getting pet quest items, even at higher levels. So here I will start with what I've found out so far...

BECAUSE once in adeline "long" time ago there was a korn bug that gave ppl freaking high amounts of kron (some has over 10 billion) wich made prices go up instantly.
After that it was known in the server that there was a xen glitch wich allowed ppl to get incredibly amounts of xens. these 2 problems were the reason of pet quest prices increase.
Y only pet quest items are so expensive?
well at the beggining they werent that expensive, also pets were completely useless. If u made a pet was just to have it a companion not to make mounts or enhance it to get some awesome skills. The drop rate of leather and wood also decreased with the house drops what made them even harder to farm, and without being able to find any kind of "glitch" to get easy pet quest items, and with the implementation of mounts and skilled pets... well the result is overpriced pet quest items :D

Marian is still somehow "new" and it didnt exist when the xens and kron problem, thats y prices over there are very like old prices in adeline.

Now to farm items my advice is: for fruit go and stick in maps like the one in north of CV, to get leather stick in a empty map that has:halloween moon bears, hawgs and/or krupons since those are the monsters that drop them (if i remember well the blue hawgs wich name i dun remember also drop it) and the most important thing BE PATIENT!!!
the first time i made pet quest it took me from lvl 38 to 43 to get all my incub drops.

For FP the best thing to do is move to closest map with fairy monsters to the map u are training in. that way u can still find monsters like hawgs or krupons and u can farm leather and fp at same time ^^

I know I have posted this before, but the Search function doesn't help for squat...

You're best bet in finding Aloe/Grapes is making a new character, preferrably one that you can locate decent gears for (Squire and Neophyte are optimal) and training in Essene.
Either go north one map or west four maps from Essene and grind grind grind.

You WILL find the Aloe, but it might take a while. (Or it might not, just depends how lucky you are.)

I will share my most effective method of farming.

To start off, I'm a Mage so I have frost which is an AoE binding skill. I just party with a low level who has a good defence, obviously the lower level gathers the monsters, and I kill. I got around 10 leathers doing this in a day, I do recommend it :).
