Yeah Drop Rates really suck as of late.
and so does the economy. leather costs the same as a xen now.. Why cant they just increase drop rates and it would fix the economy from the Kron incident?
To be blunt, Im really tired of being stuck on the leather/wood/watermelon/ssf Pet quest step. Its' a pain.

The recent increase in pet quest items is due to the sudden interest in pets because of the new pet buffs and riding pets not the kron incident. Leather, wood and fp have always had a bad drop rate but frankly I think increasing the drop rate would hurt more than help the economy. These, along with apples, grapes, aloe and the pendants that lower levels can sell for a good profit. I may have missed something, but I think the rest of the pet quest items are all available through the auto drop pet quests except for the ssf and those you need to have good defense or get into a party to get.
Drop rates also seem to vary from day to day. Sometimes I can go out and spend two hours farming and get only 1 or 2 items and other times I will bring in 8 to 12 items.
I think when the "new" wears off the riding pets, the quest item prices will drop somewhat.

I totally agree with taz. Once everybody will get their mount, prices are going to go down again. Also, if something is made to turn enhanced pets back to regular pets, prices will once again go down. Just look at equisible, they used to sell for 10+ million... now that everybody has wings, they sell for less than a million :D
Also, items such as leather, wood or ssf should stay rare items. That's what makes pet awesome and hard to get. I wouldn't want advanced pets to be as common as poyos ^^

If you are having a hard time getting items, either make a farmer and farm for it or aoe/solo like crazy to raise funds to get the items. You will appreciate the pet you get a lot more once you get it. I should be getting a new pet that I will enhance to a mount by Saturday. It took me 4 weeks to get all the stuff I need, but I farmed all but 5 grapes. After you get what you need, just set a simple goal like getting 1 fairy powder and 1 leather a day and it will not seem too bad. If you don't have an SSF farmer, trading leather for ssf can be quite effective. Good luck.

I agree with what everyone else has replied...you can get these items yourself if you try hard. And they are only expensive now because everyone wants unenhanced pets. The prices will EVENTUALLY go down.
Why cant they just increase drop rates and it would fix the economy from the Kron incident?
How would this "fix" the economy? It would make the price of pet quest items drop, but that is all. In fact, xen and gear prices would simply raise accordingly since people have more money to spend on these (since they are not buying wood/leather at insane prices anymore).
Fixing the economy requires more ways to funnel kron out of the game through NPCs, etc.

well I was thinking "everything" is so expensive...if they increased the rates just a little bit, it would help lower prices. Im not trying to insult anyone at all btw oO; Im just saying...it's crazy that leather is the same price as xens now.

Just dont buy it then ;) !
Some peeps are tryin to take advantage of the fact that people are interested into pets again. That's why aloe were lately proposed at 650k each, even 1.2 million, which is a TOTAL rip off ! Aloe arent worth more than 50,000 kron imo. The problem is that people are buying it for this price...

Drop rates have always sucked, it's about luck.
there's nothing wrong with leathers being as expensive as xen... if anything that should help the lower levels to get a lot of money for pots, etc
pets and mounts are on demand right now so obviously the pet quest items will be higher in price.
on a side note, remember when they said YWMs are supposed to be important for pet fushion?
whatever happened to that???? *looks at his own stash of YWM*

When housing comes out, if the rumors are true and houses are going to cost millions of kron, I think the economy will stop being an issue :3

I see nothing wrong with the economy right now. A vast majority of items and gears are now available for kron. I have actually seen certain things selling UNDER their previous previous prices such ap 2 gear and some ap 4 gear.
That said, there is still a ton of kron on the market and there will be inevitable inflation in this game due to the lack of kron sinks. The cost of a house may cause deflation or inflation (perish the thought).
As for the recent increase of pet quest items, Outspark messed up by telling people that enhancing their pets was required to get a mount. Now there are a ton of people, myself included, racing to acquire items to make a new pet since all of their pets are now enhanced (just my one and only pet elephant is now enhanced). That sparks an unnatural increase in demand without an equivalent increase in supply. Outspark getting involved to "fix" the problem has the danger of them doing too much and destabilizing the economy again. Their track record for quickly responding in an effective way is not very good (and neither is government for that matter). It is best to just sit tight and put up with the temporary increase in price. If things are too expensive for you, put off your purchasing to later or again, go farm the items. I will argue that the current increase in prices is not profiteering. Demand has incresed rapidly and supply has not kept pace. Anyone farming or possessing the items has seen those items increase in demand and subsequently price. More people will want to farm the items since the prices are good or they cannot afford them. Eventually, supply will increase to meet demand, we will reach an equilibrium, and the prices will start to fall. As to when that will happen, who knows. Don't panic. Start farming and get your stuff or sell it and make a mint. I would advise against buying and reselling items unless you are very clever and don't mind risk (remember firewood, resellers?..."I just bought 50 mil worth of firewood and now it is worthless!" xD)

I'm trying to think of a time when the drops rates were better.
...
Nope. Never. In fact, they've increased the Xen/Leather/Wood/FP, etc from that it used to be in the "olden" days. Be glad you're not back then.

Or when every item in the quest was a completely random drop. It seemed to take forever to get the first 30 butter.

You know, with the lack of quests at higher lvls, I kind of like the change of pace of playing my farmer. I have a set goal in mind, something not easy, but not impossible either. I find it relaxing and soothing to farm for stuff.
