A friend of mine just showed me the website of this game and the only conclution i could take is... Is this a cheap rip of Ragnarok Online?, did the īmakersī of this game get banend there and tought "Why play RO , i could make this myself!" or some? o_o
This game could be way difrent then RO , but from what i saw from the screens and movie on the site it's mostly the same >_>...
Hope to see some reactions soon,
Cya.

I believe I heard that RO and SotS use the same game engine, thus the similarities in graphics. Gameplay wise it is a bit different. I find the gameplay feels like other MMO's with RO graphics. Most MMORPG's follow similar guidelines so it's hard to say exactly what's different.
It has similar classes, but all MMO's do, with the exception of a Merchant type and of course the gunslinger and taekwon classes. There are no transcended classes but 4 advancements one can make (ie. Xenian (Novice) -> Acolyte(lvl 16) -> Clergy(lvl 66) -> Priest (lvl ???) -> Bishop (lvl ???)) with a level cap around 200 (or so I've heard).
Guilds aren't implemented yet though so I can't talk about those and similarities/differences.
The party system is quite a bit different, you gain 10% more exp for having 1 of each class grouping in the party (Acolyte, Fighter, Magician and Rogue (Thief like)). There's also another bonus if you have a Xenian in the party as well however I've yet to see what it is. Gameplay almost forces you to party if you want to level, unlike RO where you could get by with any class and a Priest.
Equipment is more like many other MMORPG's where you get new equipment dependant on your level and class (class/level specific) and in RO there was a small number of equipment that traveled through multiple classes (I rather enjoyed this concept, however)
There are no cards or slotted equipment in SotS, another feature of RO I enjoyed.
I've yet to try the PvP events and as of yet thre's no PvP areas so I can't comment on that just yet either.
Skills are not learnt with Job Points but rather Skill Books you can read after you reach a set level (Base level there's no Job levels at all)
Stat wise you get 1 point every level (sometimes 2 or 3 on levels divisible by 5 [I think it's something like that]) unlike RO where you get quite a bit more lol.
Anyways, I've only been playing since Sunday but that's all I know so far... hope this helps :)

MMOs will all be similar by nature, but from what I've read of this game, it does have some differences from RO. There's no harm in trying it - one important difference is that this one will be FREE!
