View Full Version : Fighters should get quest with skill reset

Well, we have stat reset quest, why not make skill reset also?
I will explain why i said "fighter" in title. Other classes dont really need skill reset since messing skills for mage/archer/cleric hard unless u have no idea what u doing.
For fighters its different. Untill lvl 20 we have only 1h sword skill option, and many empower slice and dice thinking that they'll use 1h+shield for rest of life. 20 lvls>10 skill points, exactly 1 skill reset stack.
But after lvl 20 many fighters test axe or 2hander and decide to become damage dealers, but what about points they wasted on slice and dice? Nobody warned the (imho, skill points should be allowed to be distributed only after lvl 20 because of weapon change).
My slice and dice also has 10 points in it, and i cant buy skill reset since i am non sc user.
Somebody from outspark, reply plz what u think, and should i submit ticket about skill reset quest or forum enough? Thanks.

why is it always FIGHTERS complaining.. >_> don't u think other classes need it to or something? =_=
just think before adding your skill points or redo a fighter =3

there should be a empowerment reset quest for all classes.
Fighters, get a stun that they can empower, but at 43, they get deva, and all those points on stun is a waste.
Archers, They get multi-shot at 20, but at 51 archers get mist, they HARDLY use multi-shot at 51+, so there goes all the empowerments wasted on that skill. Esspecially at 75, then no need for multi-shot..
Mages, blah, i have no mage example.
clerics, i see alot of new clerics empowering bash first, then realizing they should have empowered heal first later on.
I think a quest at lv30 for a empowerment 10 point reset scroll is a great idea. They got one for stats, why not empowerments also?

Oh archers also have skill problem? Ok, i thought just fighters have this issue, yeah, all classes need skill reset then (i dont see why mages or clerics may need skill reset tho :D).
Ras-blackfire, when u was lvl 1, u thought about lvl 20 job change? I doubt lolz, when new player starts playing he doesnt think about more high lvls, he just trying to become more good at his current lvl unless its his alt and he/she hardcore player that knows all about gameplay.
Redo fighter...? Nice advice for lvl 9x player :D

-_- again...how is it "always" fighters with complaints now?
redoing all the way back up to lvl8x+ isnt even close to a good choice.
anyway..all classes should have skill reset, but clerics and fighters stand out more in this area becuz they hybrid out their skill empowerments most of the time. even some tank fighters empower power hit and precise attack so their not completely dmg impaired, but knights best and highest dmging skills will come from 1h skills. same with clerics who thought hammers were the dps cleric weapon, now if they plan on goin holy knight they have wasted points on bash and maybe some of the later heals. tho i dont know much about the DD classes so i cant speak much on them.

Actually, the level 100 job change quest should allow you both a full stat and skill reset. Not this "red pill/blue pill" nonsense they've got going in the Cash Shop.

Oh RIGHT!
Yes lvl 100 should allow full restat and full reskill, this very important for clerics and fighters, because our class branches require serious char calibrating. Maybe red/blue pills should be rewards from job change quest?

As much as I love that idea, like 99% chance OS won't do it lol. So sad. Cause it is, indeed, a great idea.

Well really 10 skill reset should be an award in 100 change.

Mages...Magic Missile @ lvl 1, use points for cd...then they dont use it when they get Magic Blast [03]. Might have put some points into other skills too (fire bolt, ice bolt etc) which get an upgrade at 5x. So there go some wasted points too.... D:

Problme with that stat reset for hitting level, 30? Well I never needed that. My build with stats was exactly how I wanted it from the start. So I went through with my reset and took 10 points of spirit and put those same points back on because the stack was taking up space. I DO like the idea of some quests giving skill resets. Maybe have a reset reward for every class change, thats 20, 60, 100 right? Because I have some point in bash that I dont not want there. However I quickly learned and at 44 I have all my remaining points put in to max heal (all possible in CD, SP, Power) and then working on maxing out rejuvination. But I do understand this, people make mistakes and really, who wants to save ALL of their skill points till level 20 or later? (though I saved so I could start adding to rejuvination right away)

lmfao i did that on my cleric n alt fighter
n i agree with deavor..those pills are like 20% each. im just lucky enuff to have a good friend that gifted me a stat reset (<3333 Oyoshiro). not errybody has the funds to fix the early lvl fails they did on their chars. doesnt help that while clerics take a hard hit at the class split.

Ignoring the debate about the possibility of it being implemented (cause we all know it's probably not gonna happen)...
The classes don't need a reason to require a quest for skill reset points. If you're new to the game, or new to MMOs in general, you're very likely make a mistake. Fighters, archers, and clerics are misled in their early skill empowerment, fine. Mages are still capable of making a mistake.
Its the same as the stat point reset scrolls at lv30. We've all made mistakes with builds, I'm sure we've made mistakes with skill empowerment when we were new at the game (or new at a particular class).

Well this is simple really...Having created a fighter myself and even knowing that you dont put skill points onto anything before lvl 20...Its like a rule for every class. Sure you test things but then dont moan when it goes wrong just go with it. If you want to test and axe or a two handed sword but that doesnt go with the particular skill then use a differant weapon or put the skill points you get onto that particular skill. So theres no point winging about it. One of the fun things about fiesta is actually testing the skills. so if you make a new character you know what to do with that one lol.

Well really 10 skill reset should be an award in 100 change.
10 is simply not enough. At level 100, you're no longer part of the cleric class or fighter class. You are then either a member of the healing support class, the buffing support class, the designated tanking class or a 1vs1 melee specialist.
There are significant specialisations between the base class and the subclasses. This implies that, especially for clerics and fighters (who generally have their skill points distributed in a "well-rounded" manner), either sub-class choice will necessarily lead to a less-then-optimal skill empowerment set.

they should make it a 50 quest and get the quest completed when they reach lvl 60 (like the stats reset scroll quest and stuff)(the higher lvl ppl could get it and just turn it in if they meet the lvl requirements)

mm skill reset quest should activate at some lvl and be active for ALL above lvls so that even capped players be able to complete it and get reset they need.
I am not sure, stat reset quest has lvl cap? Or its available even at 8x lvls?

In other versions of fiesta at level 60 you get a full skill reset from aprenticeship.
Outspark does things differently.

Yeah, i suppose they will make class branch at lvl 100 in way so that all would be forced to buy skill/stat reset pills>.>
But this game free to play. ALL players should be able to restat/reskill, if outspark not going to add skill/stat reset as quest reward, they as well may make fiesta Pay Game, because non sc users would be messed without pills...

completely agree this game is still supposedly f2p ^^ ppl have worked hard gettin their chars high enough for class split only to find out that without sc they will have to continue playing their chars with less than optimum skill empowerments...i am a sc user but i hate how the non sc users are being constantly kicked in the teeth by os

the game starts to be all about the money. there has been ALOT of free games that has started to tweek money out of the players, and result? people starts to quit. this USED to be a fun game. NOW u cant do anything without using actual money to succeed, so whats the use?
im pretty sure i, for one, wont be playing this game much active after the newest lame patch with the "upgrades". i think its downgrades:P

Store goods suppose to make gameplay more easy or fun in F2P game, but all necessary goods should be available as rewards or npc should sell them.
FULL skill reset and stat reset not necessary till 3rd job change, but at least 1 stack of skill and stat reset should be avalable from quests. At lvl 100, since our class branches force to pick 1 class out of 2 (for example, for fighter choice is either pure tanker either dd) skill reset and stat reset pills should be rewards from job change quest. Same for other classes...
Lets hope outspark would realise that lvl 100 needs pills as rewards, dont forget, patch not complete, they still working on it.
But what about some quest with skill reset stack? Its obvious that untill they reached lvl 20 many players made mistake and empowered wrong skills, and 20 lvls exactly 10 skill points, i.e. 1 skill reset stack.
OS, plz consider adding such quest!

I read the original post but not the replies. So dun shoot me if I missed something. xD I just woke up.
Honestly, I think everyone messes up early on. My newbie fighter empowered duration on stun not knowing that deva existed later, empowered damage on fatal slash not knowing I'd need those points later, etc. My mage as a newbie empowered cooldown on magic missile not knowing I'd get more skills and rarely use it later, many empower magic burst not knowing they'll regret it later. My archer used to be a single-target killer and now with the running aoe, I'm almost strictly an aoe-killer, so I need to switch all those points around. My cleric I managed to salvage after the patch that allowed heal to be empowered for damage, she hasn't needed a reset thankfully. But many empower invincible duration not realizing that later on the damage will run out long before the duration does, or they don't know heal damage is possible to be empowered, or they don't think to do heal cooldown.
Just like everyone messes up stats early on, everyone messes up skills early on. Only options are to live with the choices we made when we didn't know, re-start on a new character, or cough up the dough for the cash shop item. Kinda sucky choices all around. We get stat reset at 30, would be nice to get skill reset later on. I was going to say 40 but, deva comes at 43, magic blast at 49?, aoe poison at 51, then nova and such at 60. Maybe skill reset should be at 60?

Hm, yeah lvl 60 sounds good for skill reset scrolls since at 60 almost all skills u would be using in future available.
But uh... Skill reset shouldnt be job change quest reward, because this way many 7x/8x players wont be able to get it. It should be regular quest like "deliever something to somebody" with no lvl limit after lvl 60, so all can start and complete it.
