View Full Version : Just an idea for the would-be-stores to sell

I haven't seen this yet in the stores of other free to play MMORPG's, and I don't know if it is even possible, but I would like to see a chance to buy different story-lines or a series of quests for a game. That way you can earn the special rewards/items you 'buy' and have a bundle of fun doing so. To me, it would give more fun and sense of accomplishment then simply buying an item.
These sort of side-quests could be organized by means of level at which you should be able to accomplish them solo. Provide some extra challenge, some extra story-layer in the game. I know I'd be willing to pay for it.
..off course if we could get more quests for free.. well, no complains then either!:p

most mmorpgs dont have story lines and as far as i can tell this one isnt any different, plus who wants to pay for game content?

most MMORPGS DO have storylines...
Many games you need to pay to play so thats pretty much paying for game content.
Others you have to pay for expansions, thats pretty much game content.
Some of the most popular games are fully P2P, think yourself lucky that if this idea was made it would be optional.

A lot of people want to pay for game content. And a lot of people actually do pay for game content. It's not too far from paying to play an online game, such as WoW, right?

A lot if not 95% of all MMORPG's have a storyline, the ones that you're thinking of are the F2P games like maplestory that only took about 2 months to create.
There is a game out there (Dungeons and Dragons Online I believe) that sells game content (Different continents, storyline, dungeons) to players that want to buy them for about $5 - $20 a pop.
Yes it's another way to make money but some people don't like the idea of just playing a tired storyline about how earth or other random planet is having a problem and you're the only one that can save it from destruction. So an idea like this should be considered, maybe not now but sometime in the near future. I recently saw that they put up Sparkcash which really kinda gave me a sense of fear that both Fiesta and SoS are going to turn into nothing but cashshop games (IE: Maplestory) but you can hope that they won't.

Didn't know about that Dungeons and Dragons online game yet, but that is indeed what I meant to suggest. For the players who would want more dept, more stories, more quests, it would be ideal. And I'm not suggesting it should by all means be something to pay for. If it's for free, yeah, sure, that's be great. But I understand that there goes a lot of time and efford into making a side-quest, a complex story-line. And the makers might not want to do it alltogteher if they don't see any money for their effords.
