Hey, here's a shot I made of all of us coming together to form a gigantic line. Even if it didn't end as well as it could have, it sure was a lot of fun. :D
It looks a little weird because I merged two pictures side by side. In reality it was just one long straight line.

that's not even all of it. it went all the way to a house, and then curved toward MT.

Yeah, I didn't look for it but heard it was quite long; I didn't know if I was justified waiting for a pet because I'm a lowbie and saw "Miss" about two dozen times before I just sat back and healed people for a bit. Seems like it actually went pretty orderly, minus the few who I think people were saying were cutting.

A few cutting in line is the understatement of the millenium...however, it did them no good. Steam's a bit smarter than some folks seem to think he is...

my pet is buggy everytime i zone his torso is floating 5 inches to the left weird :eek:

steam should make a npc that people can just go and get it..
like getting a quest..

Hahaha. That was so much fun.
But god, I can't imagine playing the GM. Too much work. I wasn't surprised Steam stopped the event a while in.

Yeah...it's kinda what I was trying to tell others one time. Being a GM is likely both a blessing and a pain, it can be fun if that's what you like to do, but can also be a pain because too many people seem to get what I'll call "ZOMG!AGM!" syndrome, and I imagine it would pester you - you need a lot of patience to be a GM, or work with any administrative type of job similar to it.
Forum administration, for example, can be a real pain if you have quite a few members. I used to handle that and admin a CS server, on a much smaller scale than Fiesta? Yes...but people were still very...to put it nicely - persistent.

the idea for making the npc whas a ood one, they couldthink bou tthat and leave npc there 4 x hours so people from all aound the world can get it.

This was tragic, I stayed up until 1 a.m. hoping for a pet, something I've wanted for the last 14 levels, and ended up with nothing except multiple XP, from which I benefitted little, due to the afore-mentioned time.
This highlights either a need for an easier method for GMs to give people items, to avoid such a fiasco again, or for Steam to start summoning epic dragons to smite people who can't do something as simple as queue.

I didn't get my pet after waiting all that time either... People kept cutting in front and I was afraid I would loose out if I took my place back. I had even messaged GM Steam during the event so I should have proof I was there. We all should have gotten a pet in a chest like the KQ. I lost a lot of respect for the GM after this event.

Please don't turn this thread in a negative direction mguinther. Steam is definitely not to blame. The pets were a privilege, not a right. He set the terms, and they weren't followed. There wasn't anything that could be done about it. I was disappointed that I didn't get mine either, but sometimes that's the way it goes. The pet lasts 7 days, so in a week everything will be back to normal, and everyone (pet or no pet) will still have the exp they got from the 3x exp we got. :D

Events in Fiesta are really big aren't they?
I was part of that line ... way way way in the back.
But it was fun.
I did get my pet though. Was funny when the trade window opened, I almost panicked and closed it XD
