Is that a good build? I want to be able to party and solo.. i'm only 1x now and it's my first char.. i got +3+2 Str:End ring and a +3 str Ring, so should i continue w/ my 1:1 build for End:STr, or go in others? or should i get 10 in str and all in end? or some in Spr?

Personally, I dislike STR builds for Clerics. It is an option, I just don't like it.

Here's why:

With STR, you gain damage. The end.

If you go with SPR instead, you gain damage in the form of crits (Less overall damage than STR...)

BUT, you also gain more SP, which means you'll use less SP stones.
You also gain magic defense, which can be awfully useful. :)


Realistically, a Cleric is never going to be a MASSIVE damage dealer. A pure STR build will certainly deal a nice amount of damage, but it is still going to take you awhile to chop down a mob. Every other class, with the sole exception of a pure END fighter will kill much faster than you.

With a SPR build, or SPR/END build, you will kill a tiny bit slower than the STR build, but will have a greater survivability rate in addition to lowered soloing costs. For a high-end party situation, STR is not very important at all. SPR and END are, because if you get aggro, you'll be thankful for the END, and when you're spamming heals for an hour straight you'll be very thankful for the extra SP. Remember, SP (and HP) stones restore a percentage of your maximum SP. So when you have less SP, each stone restores less.

IMO str in this game is useless...

but it's only an opinion...

anyways there is no correct build for a cleric (skill or stat)

but if I'm going to choose between str and spr I'd go for spr anytime any server any class lol ^^

To further address the downside of strength for clerics, note that 5 points of strength gives 6 points of damage to every hit you make.
When you're dealing 6 damage per hit, that's great. You kill an enemy twice as fast.
Level up further, and put 30 points in Strength (1:1), and you're adding 36 damage to every hit. That's sad. You're dealing, without stat bonuses, at least 150 damage at level 59. So +36 damage per hit gives... What? A 20% faster kill?

Well, that's nice. I guess? 20% faster is 20% faster after all, and 25 points in spirit only makes you 5% faster.
Except that that same 25 points in spirit stays as a 5% bonus to kill speed. That +36 damage? Flops. You'll be dealing that much more damage in even 10 levels that eventually +36 is a drop in the ocean, even as a cleric.

So, you'll continue adding strength, because you don't want to waste it, instead of increasing stats that actually give other bonuses. Even after 50 and 25 respectively, endurance and spirit increase defence, HP and SP. Since a cleric can deal 40 damage to Uruga-level monsters and still win, it's really not worth the points invested in Strength in the long-term. Your mileage may vary, as ever.
