For Sim fans, you may be well aware that today is the release date of the Sims 3, at least in the U.S.
I've played the Sims 2 and fell in love with it. Sometimes, it was boring and sometimes it was fun. I loved taking care of my family and decorating the house. Sims 2 was indeed a fun game for me, but there is one thing I really hated: the long loading times whenever I needed to get out of the house.
Now, the new and highly anticipated Sims 3 is here! What makes it different from the Sims 2 is the freedom of character customization and the open-ended neighborhoods.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I can play it, due to my system. I am aware that some people have already pre-ordered it.
Now, my fellow Sim fans, I implore you to discuss the Sims 2 and Sims 3 here.
Was all that hype really worth it, and was the game really worth the $50?
Please, no flaming and discuss your opinions.

I'm still not use to Sims 3 but one big turn off for me is how blobbly they look. I love how sims 2 look more. Lmao but I love the personalities. I was an evil sim and had evil slumbers and took evil showers xD

I kind of like sims more than sims 2, I end up stop playing at all when they don't have new thing for sims. My favourate is actuall the Herry Porter Magic one.

Blobby? You mean the graphics were better in Sims 2? But how's the open-ended neighborhood? :D

I've never really played the Sims 1. I wish I could've seen that "Herry Porter."

Indeed. I wish I never came across those cheats. I think that's what made the game boring for me for a bit. :p:D But once I learned about the cheats, I couldn't stop using them.

TS3 is coming the UK on the 5th, so I'm really excited about it ^^
I hated the loading times on ts2, so I'm gonna like TS3 ^_^. I'm gonna make a seriously evil sim, and a really kind sim =) Sibling rivalry anyone? *_*

i can't play the Sims 3 yet cos it hasn't been released here
but i'm looking forward to it c:
i can finally use the open neighborhood to make all the little stories i typed into my crazy family descriptions in the Sims 2 come to virtual life >:3
And imo the cheats didn't ruin the Sims 2. i know nearly all of them but i only ever used them to make huge houses :3

Yeah that's why I like Sim1 better, unlimited fun to make interdesding design on houses and decourate the neighbour hood. <.< ^.^ >.> ok start install Sims 2 back and look for cheats.
Though it is the aging and fountain of youth that I really don't particular like. Don't think Sims 3 will be launching in my side of world yet though. Start shopping during maintainence. ;)

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to close this as it is a discussion about Non-OS related games. Please refer to the forums/fansites for the Sims if you'd wish to discuss.
Thank you.
