I report to community a strange thing that happened this evening, suddenly the guy 'real' (i censored name cause of blacklisting)
logged in and started to say his main account got hacked....the main character of that account was logged, and after a bit of
questions we understood he was an hacker for real.
due to blacklisting, i censored a lot of stuff...only my character name is showed freely:

hacker=the hacked character's name
real=an alternate account's character of the owner of hacked account
friend=in real life friend of 'real'
supposition=the original character of the hacker, maybe
name='real' in real life name, he is sweden
friend2,3,4=people not involved in this stuff who got randomly nominated
my name irl=my true name in real life, i am italian

In simple, my friend got hacked...his account and email password got changed, he noticed that and logged in on another account he used.
As he logged in, he saw his main character online (all his characters are in my guild)...but since he was on another account...who was on his main account? Not him, then who? An HACKER!
He got a bit scared cause of that, and started yell in guild chat, the screenshots are about it, but I couldn't post them without any censor.
I just assisted to that thing and wanted to show to whole comonuty this case of hacking, in the hope my friend get some help (I already reported to CSR).

All easy. "real"'s account was hacked. "real" created alt and joined guild to tell the story, but "hacker" (one who stole his account) was also online and in guild. So they started arguing who real hacker.
But notice, "real" guy send whisper to OP where he said his real name, thing that only he could knew. So yeah, "hacker" is lying, he hacked "real"'s account and pretending to be him.

there is pretty much nothing OS can do. u even lost ur email account (where u have ur confirmation mail) >.>

so next time, get a really good anti-virus, dont give ur email/passwords to anybody, dont accept any file in msn (ur friend can send u virus,keylogger,..), etc..

if u want to talk to ur friends, OS just put Meebo in ur profile.
its ur responsibility to protect ur account.

outspark can do verry much for you when you got hacked im used to be an SC user 3 week after i used it the first time i got hacked and outspark wont do anything for me ( they not even believe me) so i think they hacked (what i heard from frends) so i would use more SC to lvl up and get my money back

however I DO find it rather weird....that if you take full screen shots (lvl, gear, stats, inventory, bank, etc) why they cant replace it....or track down the items... :/

1stly, if I was not wrong, 'real' gave his password and email to 'hacker' for some reason....this is already against ToS. Remember that OS has a point stated that should there be sharing of account information with any people whom you suspect as the hacker, they cannot do anything, and it's clearly stated somewhere in forum already.

2ndly, to aishaclaws, I am sure OS has always been trying, and there has to be some other reasons behind that we are unware of.

lastly, from original poster's point of view, Outspark should do something about hacking. In my point of view, it would be good to have the hacker banned, but protecting yourself is the best way actually. Hackers banned can create another account and come back in. How many times can OS catch?? OS has been warning about privacies, and had been trying hard to warn us against hacks everytime, so much that people called it spams, and yet people are still getting hacked....How ironic XD

im the freind in the chat in begining of everything
i was at my freinds (real) house we had a fiesta lan i had own computer with me. when about the clock was 10pm last night (swedich time) (reals) mom wanted him to come down and eat (real) logged out before he went down. when got back he started to try to loggin again but it didnt work so he got more and more desperate. then he yelled at me to start the game (i had quited since about 20 min ago beacuse i planed to play some counter strike) (real) vent on his second account anyway when (real) sayd he was hacked i kind of didnt belive him but i logged in on my own account friends and when i got in i could see (real) talk to (hacker) to give him his char back. i even started to ask diffrent questions to (hacker) i asked what country he where from for an example he guess wrong he guest slovakia though real from is sweden. emeditly our guild master called Catastrofe started to understand that (hacker) was lieing about being real (real) so he started to take pics on the chat and Cata even wonderd where both where from -(hacke)r was guessing wrong again and then he started to get desperate and yoused that he was acculy hacked by (real) and that wasnt true. in the end i got kicked out of our guild beacuse i was a serius treat. i had Catastrofe on msn though so i talked to him from there. i asked if he had taken any photos and he did. so now both me (freind) real and Cata and the rest of the guild hopes that the gms can help us get backs reals account.

I will say again, I believe OS will investigate every hack account seriously, and I do think you should read up more on the hacking forums and find out how they investigate and all =D

well personally, i think all the "hacking" (give away ur password doesnt count) that ppl experience in fiesta are coming from MSN.

have u ever experience like one of ur contacts suddenly send u a link or a file?? and since u trust him u made a big mistake by clicking on it and actually that link was full of virus, keylogger or watever. and after when u talk to him about that link, he have no clue wat u are talking about.

google: "MSN virus", lots of info.
in summary:
This MSN virus is a new virus which spreads via MSN Messenger. Once a computer is infected it will send copies of itself to every online contact on the infected users contact list.

I am a IT Tech. 99.9% of the time people were not hacked they gave it away either by giving away username or password, downloading and installing files from others that had trojans/key loggers in them,... Putting it plain. People usually don't get hacked they use bad judgement and lose their accounts.

Not saying that is the case here. Yet most of the time I find you can trace it down to that. One other thing. Relying on a A/V is not the best option. A/V is just the first line of defense. It is like a home security system but if you give the code to someone or allow others to see that code it is just a nice looking box on the wall with numbers on it. The best line of defense against being hacked is sitting behind the keyboard.

@.@ Eeeeeehhh... this thread is pointless. To the OP, send a ticket with those screenshots uneditted and I hope 'real' gets their account back. I was hacked a long time ago because I have no sense and I bought silver @___@ Don't do eet ppl lmfao I sent an email to outspark and they got back to me after they had changed my pass and such. Or they sent a pass change thing to my email. Don't remember which. OS does try to help you get your account back. I was missing several items that I was not refunded, but I was just glad I got my account back.

well OS will not help you if you have ever game anyone you acc info for any reason.

ppl dont "hack" game account info lol. hacking is illegal and someone isnt going to do it over a game account in which they wont make any/much money on.

(they can reset you acount to the old state but they dont) they also can reset sc items back to full time and reset em from normal inv to sc inv so they can help you when you're hacked they can reset everything

If you've submitted a ticket to CSR they should get back to you within a few days (sorry those guys are swamped right now!)

In the meantime, I've alerted someone else to your problem, hopefully we can do something about it.

Please remember guys, if you're not expecting a file from a friend, even if they're trusted - double check with them before installing (even I've been a victim of this!), never share your login information (user email and password), and keep your antivirus programs up to date and firewalls active.

keylogger can come to your computer by email, messenger, or simply by surfing a bad site or even by beeing connected to the internet.
but from what i understand till now it was either you give password away to get sc charged to your account or your pc got somehow infected and the hacker got your logins by using a keylogger.

the best is you should reinstall windows and all other programms. dont let sth on your harddisk that can perhaps be infected. aftter that install drivers and then antivirus. let it run while installing all the programms you need.

if you dont wanna do it use SEVERAL virus scanners to check your computer. check your antivirus guard if its really running in the background. open task manager and look for strange process (post it here if you want so i can take a look on it).

a good idea is also using onlinevirusscanners. you only need to download a small activex programm that will scan your computer.

the problem is if your computer is infected with a virus you will "probably" see sth in your antivirus programm after the full scan. so you have at least the name of the virus or a part of the virus. try to find a programm that is specialised for that virus, cause most normal antivirus proggies cant fully remove a virus on compromised system. (you can get them from symantec or mcaffe for free)
"avert stinger" or sth like "fix(virusname)".

mcaffe and symantec got many of them and they work better than any scanner. but its always good to use both if you find them. its best to use them in safe-mode (F5 or F8 at windows start). after checking reboot in normal mode and let them scan again till it wont find anything.
after run full scan of your virus scanner.

but this all can take some hours and there is still a chance the virus will be there after, so reinstalling is perhaps faster and better^^

a tip for optimizing delete everything you dont need at your windows drive so scans will be much faster. its enough to only scan the partition with windows.
after cleaning take fullscan of all your harddisks. enable "all-files-check" and "highest heuristic" in your virus programm.

Look im lvl 85 now last week at lvl 83 I got hacked, I lost 10g and many +9 items I was messaging the CSR's and all of a suden they started ignoring me idk whats up but I dont see any1 that hacked me being banned and I know who it is, do something about it
