How bout if you could make a version of fiesta in which people can buy at stores and take home and play as the only one on the game :D There would be no lag, and you could enjoy playing :3 and you could connect it online to play with others only if you want to :3
(just a cool idea :O)

another problem is that a lot of the bosses are meant to be teamed up on. it would take a bit of reprogramming to make them weaker. and then they have to fix the bugs that would come with that. but if they managed to make a console version i'd pre-order it straight away

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you'd have to re-program the entire game. You can't just flip a switch and have an offline version. The whole concept behind the progamming is the fact that it's online and pulls the information from the servers.

You sir are a meanie face >.o jk <3
But um, i mean like, you could buy potions from the store and scrolls from a store, and monsters could drop money so you could get money without selling to other players...and blah :P i guess it's a broken idea :'[

An offline mode kind of like Phantasy Star would be fun. It could be kinda story-based and you'd have npc characters to party with. :P

I'd like to see a cellphone/iPhone tie-in with the game.
What I mean is you couldn't play fully, but you could check your vendor, or chat to your guild, or maybe even make pots/scrolls/stones (granted you had all the items in your inventory). It could even be just text based, or minimal graphics, since you're not fighting.
Not a thought out idea, but it would be cool to be able to at least check in while you were away from home.

I like the cell phone idea if you wanna like vend afk. Have it ran through your phone so you can leave the game and your vendor stays. You get updates if your stuff sells, can insert new items and change prices and the name :)

I've played around with this sort of idea, but for a much more in-depth game. My opinion on it, though, would, though it'd take a lot of programming, have a much more client-based game. Server is there, server makes sure your game hasn't been tampered with, and server makes your own little world -much like how people entering KQs or instance dungeons enter their own world where they're the only players that exist. You would log on to either populated or solitary, then choose your server (Teva, Bijou, ...). In populated, it'd be like the game is now. In solitary, you're in your own world, available only to other players if 1, they're on your friend's list, or 2, you post for help on some sort of bulletin board, which would last either 1 hour or until up to four people clicked 'aid'. Anyone who clicks 'aid' would be transferred to your world, in the map you're in.
Does the idea make any sense? I know it'd be a pain to program, but it's workable, right?
On a side note, I am no programmer, nor game designer, nor do I have any ambition to be either. I just like thinking up possible games. It kills time.

Are chas able to be on solitary and populated? Cause poeple could abuse this to have their own private grind spots then move over to populated...

You'd have to log out and log back in to change from solitary to populated (Populated could go to someone's solitary to give aid), but the whole point is that you're alone when you want to be alone, and with others when you want to be with others. Frankly, it's something I'd really like, as I lag to death every time someone walks by me, but I still want to be able to interact with other people when I've no interest in grinding (and dying every time someone finds me).
On a similar note, the last I played before my long and recently ended absence, people already had private grind spots. I, for one, grinded on Jr. Archons for weeks on end after DP1 came out, since few people went there. I'd see some people grind in specific areas of dungeons or abysses, sometimes CP1, forest of slumber and... pardon my memory, but the forest area between FoS and Uruga.
