This game is different and relatively new, perhaps they thought that if the pets were random therefore the buffs "should" be random, too?
I don't think any Physical Attack Classes would ever need INT, but the chances of them getting INT mounts are completely random just like the Magic Users. However Magic Users do have major disadvantage due to the fact that the enhancements give only the Attack or Defense buffs.
For example, when I was playing MU Online, the Wings in the game are designed to fit every single class. Blade Knights' Wings would never get Wizardry Damage Increase, and the Soul Masters' Wings would never get Attack Damage Increase as you upgrade it with Jewel of Life because it would not make sense to increase the Physical Damage of a Soul Master when Soul Masters clearly uses magics to kill (you can't just tell the Wizards to swing their staffs at the mobs :P). While on the other hand, the chances for any classes to get any types of Wings were completely random in the game, too. However, at least the upgrade is reasonable, it is random because they can either get HP Recover Percentage or the Attack/Wizardry Damage Increase. They can always trade their Wings amongst other players. Furthermore, in MU Online, there are universal items that can boost the stats of characters, too. For example, the Imp that boosts a character's damage is designed to benefit all classes because it increase the Attack Damage and as well as the Wizardry Damage of a character. Sadly, that is something I did not see in SotS.
I strongly suggest OS to change the Mountable Pet Enhancement stats based on different types of pets. You can have Magic Damage Increase Candies and no Magic Damage Increase Pet Buffs? What kind of balance is that?! An Int/Wis or an Int/Agi pet should never have a chance to get attack buffs and a Pow/Agi or a Pow/Men pet should never have a chance to get magic buffs (which they won't because these the "magic buffs" don't exist, so what do they have to worry about? NOTHING, that's right!). While at the same time, all pets should have equal chances of getting defense or other types of universal buffs. As for the percentage of Damage Increase that's added to the pet after each time of enhancing, it should be universal. To do that, the buff should be changed to both the Physical and Magic Damage Increase. Therefore all classes are being treated fairly!
