when i click on objects such as wood and clams, a small bar comes up with a sort of 'scrolling' bar inside it. what do i do?

it dont do anythign i think it was SUPPOSED to mean if it went past the bar in the end you got better drops from waht you was havresting or getting idk just a guess peace it has no meaning atm enjoy it just for the looks adn blocekd chat box -_-

It actually has a purpose. A very small and insignificant one. I got it to work a whole TWO times while mining for over an hour... If you click on that 2 pixel mide gold/yellow/orange bar it is an instant harvest. The bar like flashes out a circle and the items appear right away. However it is more strain to try and actually do this than it is to just wait...

I used to be able to get it to work a lot around 2 years ago, and haven't been able to since I started playing again at the start of this year, which leads me to assume it's bugged.

It worked for me like 3 weeks ago. Maybe less. Yeah.. Like a week ago actually... I think... But it is VERY hard. I was more upset that I couldn't time the stupid thing right then I would be just patiently waiting. And apparenty spam clicking that little line doesn't work.

it does and hs always worked as far as i remember it takes time getting used to the time of it but once u do u can gather stuff alot lot faster it makes things alot easier, when events have been on in past ppl have called me a cheater because i was hitting bar and havesting b4 them XD

that said doesnt always work but what else u got to do when gathering and waiting that 5-7seconds? keep trying it and u will start to get better at it and find that u hit it over 50% of the time its a nice little feature imo

Well my comp fails. Factory defaults on a new laptop. 256MB video card. Not good enough to really get "good" at clicking a bar when chances are I'm lagging it...

It is either hold "shift" key and right click or "ctrl" key and right click, it then asks how many you want to sell, if I understand your question correctly. Pretty sure it is hold "shift" and right click.
