Go to the download page of SoS and click on the Directx 9.0 link at the bottom and download DirectX End-User Runtime. Thats what my brother said he did and he was able to get it to work.

The latest version of Direct X is 9.0c, download the one with the C at the end and you should be golden. Hope that helps.
