This is just a comment some people might get offended so I apologies

About the new store open I'm glad that it started and appreciate the additional help they made but I just think it's just a waste of money.

Reason

Like costume it only last 7-30 days Why would anyone in right mind will spend money on like this its just a bunch of data and if purchased it will disappear on 7-30 days. I personally want to keep the things i bought forever cause were talking real money spending. Same as the pets and house I really like the idea of having a unique character on the game. Unique costume etc. It just occurred to me that spending 20-60$ on an item that will dissappear will be just a waste like flushing money down the toilet. Honest to God I really will purchase any amount if only people will able to keep their items they bought a life time or like the storage and bag extenders will also last for a life time. Again I love the game and the concept of the store but please think how will other people feel about spending money on some thing that will disappear on 7-30days.

this is a common practice in many games (especially from SouthEast Asia)

The items expire for two reasons -

1. Obviously, so you will have to buy it again later an give them more money.

2. If an item is less popular and they remove it from the database, they have to make sure no one has it in game. So, once an item hasn't been purchased for a few months, they delete it and replace it with a more popular item.

It's great marketing strategy, look at how much money MapleStory is making now. Even though they're still total sellouts =P

Read the terms and conditions of your purchase. Nothing in life lasts a lifetime (except maybe one's life...)

if the shop items were permanent (except for consumabkes) people would just buy 1 of that permanent item and never buy it again thus the game would go out of business coz of little money coming in.

You wanna see what kind of game you can play where stuff is permanent? It's called Adventure Quest. Fun game but crappy graphics and crappy gameplay.

There are many good MMORPGs with permanent cash shop items. The arguments here aren't really valid. The income of Outspark might even raise if the costumes were permanent because people who don't buy any Spark Cash now would buy Spark Cash then. And if everyone has costumes already they should just add new cooler costumes so people want the new ones again although they still have their previous ones.

The problem with this argument are many, mostly the assumptions going around.

People are assuming there are no current plans for perm items. Even if at this time there are not, we can't know what the future will be like.

People who are arguing either side, are trying to use how other games work as examples. If another game had found the 'perfect' cash shop solution, everyother MMO would have latched onto it. Both have ups and downs, and one format might not work for the design towards the other.

Trying to find holes and problems in a suggestion is also, simply not our place to do. We aren't the staff, we aren't Outspark, and we didn't design the game. What others 'ROFL' at, the designers could find brilliant. Instead, how about we just offer up ideas without trying to point out how wrong someone else is.

 Crazy idea I know!

Well, the income would still be a LOT less with permanent items. There is, indeed, a valid point to temporary items, though I find the $2.10/30 days for an outfit not worth my money. =p

Also, imagine having your account stock-filled with old outfits you rarely ever use? Waste of space, really.

Games like Maple Story have fared extremely well with the use of temporary items, though their clothing expires in 90 days and is worth (on average) $5.00 each.

I don't find that's the reason why people complain about it. It's just that many would find the game more enjoyable if all cash shop items were permanent.

Well the income can be WAY higher with permanent items, actually. You have to count the hundreds of people that quit the game after some months. They all have paid for permanent costumes then. And there's also many who would want something new eventually.

And the account stock getting filled up is not really a valid problem either because there can be solutions for that.

To your first point, I'm afraid that I disagree. From my own personal experience with friends who enjoy spending their money (or other's) on online game items such as these seem to get bored with their outfits loooooong before even something like a trivial 90-day period is up. Also, a person is a lot less likely to quit a game when s/he has money left on their account and/or a 'temporary' outfit left in their inventory than, say, one who has these permanent outfits. It is also important to point out that those who have bought things once, despite them expiring, are more likely to continue buying items again and again (while complaining/grumbling/whining, of course), then those who are buying for the first. [Bah... I'll whip out my psychology textbook if you need me to prove such a point, though I'd rather not. xD]

To your second point, indeed, there are many simple solutions to such a stock up problem. Up to the programmers, really.

Oh, and to be clear, I believe there should indeed be a mixture of temporary and permanent items (temporary = outfits, permanent = stat adjustments).

I have 3 characters on Flyff and spent $20+ for sets for each and then I spent $18 each for the hair they have. While I don't play that mmo anymore I check on my characters and like the fact that they are still there and so are the items. While I have spent hundreds there on both perm and exspendable items in the few months playing I'm happy that I can go back to what I left with. As for getting bored with them over time? I got what I want for a certain look. If I had more room in storage there I would buy more. $20 for perm outfit and $50 for perm storage increase would be OK with me.

While I plan to spend some change here, I don't plan to spend too much as the outfits are not perm.

I still have some money on that account also.
