I've been reading some of the posts in the mage class feedback thread, and I've noticed the general consensus was that it had little effect or no effect at all. But the posts seem to be a tad outdated (I think... I forgot to check the dates and am too lazy to go back and check ><).

I tried checking the effect of concentration myself, but found that it neither changed my stats in any way nor did it have any noticeable effect on my skill crits. (If anything, it lowered the probability of a crit...)

So, just to clarify, as of right now: Does concentration have any effect whatsoever?

I'm tired of just using it as a pretty way to warp/log out. :S

If you're a full int build or an sta hybrid build you won't see a big effect. I know that if you're an Int/Men build the effect is better and you get a better chance at crits. Oh and for full int and other non men builds concentration actually is useful for assist aoes it brings up the crits in volcano, well at least when I was experimenting around with it. I hope this helps.

This is how it activates: After using the skill, you won't see the effect right away because it only activates when you use a skill on something, and it's random at that. But when it activates, it gives +10 skill crit and lasts for a few seconds before losing the boost and then you have to keep hitting the foe to activate it as much as possible.

Usually it's not worth using outside assist AoE'ing with Volcano (and with Volcano only, since click-on-ground AoE's do not crit) because it has a random chance of activating with each hit. In AoE, since you're hitting many mobs at the same time, it's almost guaranteed to activate with each Volcano (unless you're doing it on a small mob), but when soloing, the mage class hit generally slow so it isn't very helpful and in normal party you should be killing things before Concentration activates...

But yeah, it's easier to see the effects of Concentration if you use a MEN build.

If you want a full INT build which is what most magicians go for, the right pair of glasses will give u some skill crit which will allow Concentration to activate at its randomness lol. With that it also works well with Accuracy at any lvl.
