Where did the "Heal Monkey Originate?

Does anyone know this question? Cause I'm seriously lost on it.

Where DID the term "Healing Monkey" or the refrence of healers as "Monkeys" come from? Not that I'm dissatisfied with the classifaction, I see the two terms, healer and monkey, fit kind of badass together.

But still.. the confusion sets in. Anyways who ever can say where gets a cookie?:confused:

In all honesty I have no clue where the term originates. I'm fairly sure it springs from RPGs, though whether it was originally a derogatory term based on the way some clerics are treated like helper monkeys, or simply a bit of harmless fun that grew in popularity I have no idea.

so sayeth "The_Famous" Mascot.. well I think it comes from most RPG games like our little Mascot said, a mindless healing drone who follows one person around and heals them when needed and do nothing else.

Rofl I'm a berserk healing gorilla lol. Gorilla cause I am clumsy and miss a lot with those monsters at MT and berserk cause I spam heal and attack everything in sight, and you get the rest lol. =P

Healing monkeys just refers to those clerics who sit there with the tank targetted and press heal every time the cooldown finishes.
