Is it intentional that Helga's aoe debuff knocks a person with over 6k def defence down to 1. Literally, 1 defence, even with super cookies. Just curious about whether it's meant to knock defence down that much. o.o"
Oh and any word on raising the enhancement bonus on the helgait shields or should I not even bother asking anymore?

I actually like how they have raised Helga's difficulty to Berserk Mode. This is as it should be because at the 89 cap Helga was a big pansy and he became even more pathetic at this cap raise because of HG weapons and stronger armour. Now as it stands, you have to be really on your toes and alert if you want to take out Helga.
Helga is suppose to be the greatest challenge in this game at the moment from which you get the strongest weapons in the game at the moment. I, therefore, think you should have to work hard to take him down as opposed to the 2 minute rapeage that was going on.

While I agree it was very fun seeing everyone running around like headless chickens, I think that the amount of defence knocked off is bit... extreme. I mean... come on... I had over 8.5k def and my defence was knocked down to something a little over 100. That's insane!
Or maybe it's a ploy to make silly people (such as myself, despite the fact that I pretty much quit) buy cash pots etc. However, if our defence is gonna get nerfedededed in teh face like that, people really aren't gonna bother buying cookies for helga anymore. o.o"
Well, regardless, I just wanted to know if it really is intentionally or not. Any word from staff on this?

I think nothing less than extreme would do to make Helga interesting and fun. I would much rather do raids that are intense and fun, than raids that are mundane and routine. I remember at 79 cap when Helga was something to be feared, but it got to point where there were talks of soloing Helga. I mean how ridiculous is that. Like I said, Helga is suppose to be the biggest challenge in this game but I think no one would deny that he became a major pansy, no more challenging than the Shadow Master at ToS.

Well I think its great that they added something that makes Helga something to fear again for once, but at the same time that debuff isn't as hard as you might think. It works just like Fatal Slash, it debuffs AFTER it hits you, so if the mages can debuff the fighters before they're hit by another aoe, there's no issue, especially since lvl 95 mages have a 10 second cooldown Dispel now that can be cast from 30 yards away. That and only the fighter actually tanking Helga would be in the biggest danger right after.
The whole point of Helga's Tomb is that its a Server Raid. That means you get as many people in there as you can to kill him, and if that means some fighters die because the debuff gets them and they didn't get diespelled, there's plenty more fighters to keep Helga at bay. The ones that die, its up to them to either get up and back as soon as possible, or hope the cleric in their party is free to revive them.
As for the charms, they're still needed. You have to be able to get to Helga through all those Kallaps and Hell Guardians, and after all those, the fighters still need to survive his aoe before they get debuffed. That and everyone wants to do the most damage to Helga as they can, so I really doubt people will stop buying charms just because the ones who get hit by his aoe have their defense wiped out til they're dispellled or killed. Also, the aoe seems limited to hitting 15-20 people at most anyway, because sometimes people within range don't even get hit.
Get enough people to work together and things like that debuff aren't an issue anyway, just another challenge to keep aware of.

Wishful thinking my friend. Even the nerfed HGs are still super godly and fighters with axes or mages with staffs and wands pwn just about anything that stands in the way. Not to mention that HGs are statted. As such to re-release unnerfed HGs is asking for trouble.
Things are now the way they should be which is either be prepared for a big battle or go home.

I believe Epith put in about 3-4hours taking down Helga this time.
And as other people are saying. Its a server raid for anyone that can help and survive. You need to help each other out. If oen mage needs to sit with their target on the tank to imediately dispell him after debuff to keep him alive then so be it.

3-4 hours is about how long it should take i think,but they should fix up the Tomb so like,5 minutes after helga is attacked,nobody can enter,nothing would suck more than working for 3-4 hours to have some dude come in and steal an item

;)I though about going and just camping at the entrance then hoping to make a last dash at the end for a drop. Then again if I was there I probably would been trying to heal the tank while not being 1hitted by the mobs (Lvl 63 pally takes 8k+ dmg in HT :o)
