And I heard a rumour that GMs are robots.

If this is true the hackies (the ones being hacked) need to report it to a CSR. Link can now be found in my siggy ^^

multiple login attempts = someone possibly has your password

If you think you're account is compromised, immediately contact a CSR and change your password.

To keep your acct safer, don't use a password easily guessed (like your dog or something), sweep your system for trojans and viruses (and keep your virus software up to date), watch where you go on the web, and change your password every once in a while, making it at least 10 characters, and alpha-numeric

I got called afk while making my post so I don't know if anyone has covered these points in the meantime. I'm going to post this anyways and I do apologize if I am repeating someone else. It wasn't intentional.

I had a discussion on this topic with a 'hacker' friend  (what he called himself lol) so I'll pass along the jist of what he said:

Truly hacking someone's account on this game is almost impossible since they implemented the X-trap security. Most people that have someone else get into their account have given out their info to either someone that was impersonating staff or to someone that they thought they could trust. Most others have been 'cracked' and not hacked; there is a difference.

Your account wouldn't be that hard to crack if someone has the email address you have linked to your OS account and you don't use a strong enough password. You can become higher risk when sharing IM's or myspace and facebook pages if you're not careful. If people are able to see a profile that shows the email address you used on OS then all they have to do is take an educated guess at the rest. Make sure your password isn't obvious/easy; don't use something that can be picked up on in these sites, or related to you in game. Using your SparkID for your password is not advisable, and making it randomly case sensitive is always a good extra measure of protection.

I don't know enough about it myself, but for what it's worth this is the info/advise that was given to me, and I thought that it made alot of sense. If anyone is concerned about their password it can always be changed. If you're not sure how, just go to the OS FAQ section and follow the instructions. And definitely contact a CSR immediately if you ever think that there's something suspicious going on with your account.

Truly hacking someone's account on this game is almost impossible since they implemented the X-trap security.

X-Trap can be easily deactivated and in order to hack into someone else account those hackers will have to hack into outspark server first.

I love how often the terms "hack", "hacked", and "hacker" are used with games. Do you honestly think if someone can legitimately hack they're going to waste the time on a game?? Most of the time it was you being a little too open with someone and letting them find out things they shoulldn't have.

Yep cracking is not hard. Our account information is listed on the right hand side of the forum. You can log in using your spark ID. The software allow infinitely wrong passowrd ender so just plug in a sequential generator and eventually someone will have your account. Though is spending so much time on one is it really worth the effort is another story.

:p Personally all my in game valuables are hiding in 6 account 4 guild storage, it will be a big challenge for someone try to get mine.
