Cant decide

I cant decide if i should b an archer or not... i had one a while bak and i went off it transfered all its stuff and made a fighter... im really not sure if i should start one again and stick to it... i dont know why... but i just.... liked the archer yet all this talk about archers are useless and things... do i really want 1... help?

This is really up to you. I will say however that I play a lvl 20 archer and I adore her. I love the look of an archer and being able to attack from a distance I'll admit that there are a few minor drawbacks to the archer. I've noticed that just because I recieve a quest doesn't mean I'm leveled enough to kill the monsters. More skills would be nice but honestly this all just imo makes for a better game challenge.
A lot of ppl on these forums say its impossible to solo but thats all I've done so far. As for being helpful in a party I've seen several posts from other archers that same they're as good a contribution to a party as a mage except for the amount of damage they can dish out.
All I know is that when I log in I'm more apt to click on my archer and play than I am my cleric or my farmer fighter (unless I need moola bad :P)

When you get to about 22, you will find yourself either partying just to defeat monsters for one quest. Well, you could just use a heck of a lot of pots/stones I guess, but every class has to party by about level 25. Except clerics, but as i've said before;they're a superclas, not a class.

ok really quickly cause i got skool but archers pwn everything, clerics are for noobs, i have a lvl 20 cleric in apoline but i hate it because i think that since clerics are able to heal and rez that they are like the cheesers of the game. 2 clerics is an unstopable team due to this. Archers, on the other hand, pwn everything, with a +35 dex build you will find yourself taking out red monsters without even taking damage. I took out mara at lvl 24 by myself with only 5 hp tier 2 pots and 9 hp stones. Archers overall pwn anything, if people tell you to go cleric, dont listen, cleric sucks.

Lol, Archers bring on the challenge in ANY game. I've played SO many games as an archer, even Diablo 2. (( Although Archers in Diablo 2 are hella cheap with guided arrows.. I went for the more challenging skill build. )) I even adore the archers in the Elder Scroll games Morrowind and Oblivion, archers in general make me quite happy.
