Idea for CashShop

I really think a name changer will come in handy in CashShop. 'Cause i don't really like my name right now and i don't want to make another character and level it all the way back up to my lvl (49). I REALLY want a name changer in CashShop. I hope outspark adds it soon...

The cashshop could have a name change item. The pro's of having one would be escaping harassment. Cons of having such an item is people would try to change names every single day. Voting on this feature I would have to say no, because of the fact people would abuse the name change ability. To stop that from happening they could put a 90 to 120 day limit on the item.

People might complain of the price, but the harassment that would come from such an item would be endless. The idea of putting a time limit before being able to use it again (possibly on that entire account?) would be better to prevent scammers, and possible harasser/abussers from switching names so much. Imagine the harassment a person could do, and 10 minutes later change names. Take that same instance, and do it 100 times a day, they could get away with acts because the CSR's would then have to try to find there new name if a person sends a help ticket in.

Overall, that's pretty much why I would think it's a bad idea. Can be good, but it can be very bad as well.

Even if there are harassers or abusers, CSR can just track down IP and IP ban them. That is possible. I've played games where people have been gotten IP banned.

Problem with IP bans are people can just proxy around them getting by an entire IP ban off the site itself. Virtually useless, they would have to ban the entire account.

that would be a good idea to make it awhile in between changing names if they did have such a thing in the store, but really i still think it wouldn't be a good idea...too bad there's always people out there that would abuse it or try to get away with something...

You meant putting something in the stor?. Yes, one use, but if a person could keep rebuying it that would be harassment. The only way I would accept this idea is if they put a time limit on the item use. At least 6 months between name changes to prevent what would happen if people tried to harass, change, harass, change.

I would still vote no.

No, think of it like a skill reset. Click the item itself, type the name your changing to or however it would be setup. Instead of it just disappearing put a ticker in your cash item list that ticks down the next 6~12 months (however long it would be) then when you can use it again that time would expire, and disappear from the cash item list of active premiums.

Will your idea be a permanent name changer? Or still time limited? I think its permanent because i don't think you will want a rental if u had a 6 month cooldown time....

If there shouldnt be a name changer, think about Counter-Strike where you can change names anytime. And that game still works perfectly.

Yes I think this will work. The cool time is a perfect amount. It will also stop harassers and abusers from spam changing their name.

I voted no and here's why:

As I have been playing this game for a while now, I find it to be a very intergral part of the game in the selecting your character's name...we give it thought and it's one of the first things you do, aside from choosing a class, and gender. If you don't like you charcater's name, well why name it that in the first place? And...you can ALWAYS delete that character and start over with a new name.

Also, there are ppl that annoy me in the game and I like to keep these ppl blocked so I don't have to hear them berate me or listen to their mindless blather. If ppl were allowed to change their names, my block list would have to be re-done (a minor point I know), but annoying none-the-less.

Finally, if and IF ppl are allowd to change their names certain aspects of the game will change. Some points have been mentioned, like who made what weapon and re-vamping your friend list, block list etc...But, it will also be hard on guilds also. If you changed your name you would no longer be in that guild. All minor points, but points to consider...

FYI: I gave lots of thought into my character's names. I like the names I've chosen. However, I do feel bad for ppl who don't, but you had that choice and made it, now you have to live with it.

Well, mostly, I start off liking that name but overtime it starts to sound dull and bad.
About the blocking people-- have outspark create block by username/password
About Friends List-- have outspark notice you everytime one of your friends change names
(only able to use every 6 to 12 months. So it won't be spamming you. Number of friends on Friends list is already limited.)
About Guild-- same idea as Friends List have outspark notice you everytime one of your guild members change name (only able to use every 6 to 12 months. So it won't be spamming you.)
Weapon Creator-- Possibilities: Change name automatically or Notify you like all the other Cons.
Recreating a Character: If you have a character with a name you don't like that is at a real high level, i don't think you would want to make another SAME charecter and get it all the way up back to that high level. Why? You will have to spend 2 times the amount of money you already have spent on skills. (Especially bad for Clerics. A LOT of skills.)
