Dear sweet home Epith;

*sigh* I wander around Isya alot on our server.. I see good things happen and bad things happen.. I have also learned that I am just one person in this huge game.. I try to help people out as much as I can... clearly there are others like me..

Since GL's have been removed(?) or what not, I am asking you guys if forming an in-game group, etc. of those that would be willing to help others out: meaning, no you wouldn't be an official GL, but would be an in-game helper just the same.

My theory is, what happened to the awesome people who cared? They still exist right? I know they do!!! I know we can do this!!

What happened to the caring people to remove the gold spammers? What happened to the helpful people provided to help our needs? Do they exist? :eek:

hmmm ...

One thing I do know, there are those giving up because people "listen" but that is all... we want people to help!!!

sure sure listening does help... but I am talking about in game .. one day, I helped someone learn how to use the difference between full screen and window mode..

I hated the GLs.
I lobbied against them because they had become abusive with their authority and so will anyone else that they elevate to that status.
Please, no more N@zi / Stasi police force in the game.
They are not needed because the CSRs and the GMs do just fine in keeping things under control.

Given how this community has responded in the past to being allowed to elect its 'officials' I wouldnt recommend it. It divides people instead of bringing them together. As someone who participated in that election, I would never ask that someone be put through some of the things we candidates went through during that election.

Gigee, I admire your dedication to the game and to making the community a better and friendlier place. If I were on your server I would certainly be glad to help you where I could. I fully encourage anyone who wants to help new players with questions and details of the game.

As much as people may say that its 'policing' I understand that that is not your intention. From what I see, you are a player who wants to make her community better by making it more knowledgeable. When an older player guides a new player (like in the master/apprentice relationship) that player not only learns how to play, but how to behave. And the entire community benefits from that.

The idea for this is great. Honestly It really is!
It's gonna be hard work, But I recomend you keep it organized Gigee!
Create a form that the people who want to be a part of it, have to fill out.
And put this list of the people in the group on the OP.
And players who need assistance can easily look on the list, and contact one of us from the list for ingame assistance!
For example:

Characters InGame Average Lv:
Characters Specialty: (For example, Buffing, Kiting, Glitch assitance, PKKing)
you can copy and paste that list if you want!

But I def want in on this, Until I am active in game again, I will def. be as helpfull as Possible on the Forums.

Er... Sorry but isn't this thread pretty useless? The only people who will ask to join are the kinds of people who already help out people in the game. This is basically just putting together a list of forum-goers who help out in game. That doesn't really help the vast majority of players who need help since most who need answers about big things such as production skills or enhancing will more often than not will not be big on the forums and will not know who to look for to answer their questions.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for teaching newbies the ropes (I do it fairly often when someone asked me something) it's just that creating a group based upon this principle is about as pointless as a Wind Cutlass +20int.

("Wind" equips have higher aim, for anyone who didn't catch that. ;))

I guess you could consider it pointless if you didn't choose to utilize it. But, it would be easy for new players to who are browsing the forums to come upon this thread and find a list of players on their server who they can contact in game to ask questions to.

That way they don't have to sit there and spam the question until someone loses their patience and either yells at them or answers it.

Its a matter of convenience. Like having a database of knowledge at your fingertips.

I think it is a great idea and used to do something similar back in the days of Dakkon I would go to Roumen sometimes but mostly Forrest of Tides or Sand Beach and shout if anyone had questions and answer questions for hours at a time back then the cap was 69, and then 79 sometime during the 89 cap I stopped. It became a thankless job and people started just wanting plvl or buffs as I only had cleric back then. Maybe its just my view but the overall level of caring seemed to drop by 50% or more of the new people. Now I know that isn't true about everyone but the ones who care seem to stay hidden a little more then the new breed of players. Also some of it I think I just got burnt out. At the time I saw no one else doing anything similar even though I brought in a few other high levels at the time to answer questions about other class's. So now I just keep to myself / guild members.

^^ very good post and I am here to say that we are starting this idea once again... it is time to start helping people out :D though it may seem like we h ave to fend for ourselves, I wholeheartedly believe that it does not have to be that way :D
