I mean wth, why these people need to talk about noodles and spanking in roar, a server-wide chat? NO ONE CARES IF YOU EAT NOODLES OR SPANK SOMEONE.
Roar is okay, when you don't start to chat with your friends who stand next to you, about damn noodles.
Honestly, I started to get kinda annoyed. This is just the beginning of the massive roar spam; After I took this screenshot they kept talking and buying new roars for almost two hours. I wanted to hit my head to the keyboard at times, the roars got really disgusting at times, I mean, I'm not so interested in hearing what are you doing every night. [I threw my chatbox somewhere for a while, this was just an example.] I was about to buy Roar myself, and be a meanie but thank God I threw the chatbox to somewhere >_>

So, dear Outspark, I know you like money and certain people like Roars, but PLEASE save us from this krap and make a Roar chat like shout/normal/guild/academy/party/whisper chat. Filter ftw. <3

Is that all? Cypion's roar-fests usually last about two rounds before they turn into discussions of various players' sexual habits. If they last that long before it happens.

Even if the roars could be blocked, the block list would also have to be increased in capacity (roars + gold spammers + annoying people you block= block list full in no time). Roars should have remained as something that only GM´s were able to use. There´s a shout system and also a party matching system for messages/advertise stuff.

I've only noticed alot of Guild Chat, or playful chat on Bijou when it comes to roars. Personally it doesn't annoy me, but I'm thinking... 'Can't they talk in whisper or in Guild Chat? ...Probably near each other at a 3 inch radius.'

At least there are some that aren't in the category of bothersome, as I notice alot of offers being brought out. Despite that...

I think Roars should be more maintained.

Yea, he was getting really annoying. People like him make me wish roars were for GM's only or they would hire someone to read each roar and determine if they need to be punished for saying something rude or inappropriate.

OS should offer an item to the players that could be bought from any item merchant NPC for 1 silver a roll. Duck Tape. That would be soooo awesome. xD

Some other games have a server-wide chat that you don't have to pay to use... you have to be a certain level limit to use it, and you have to wait 30 seconds or sometimes even more between your messages in it. And it's a tab so you can shut it off if you so decide.

Too bad you didn't do that to us. <3

I think it's disgusting what certain people roar about. We have minor people playing this game.
Even though this game is supposed to be 13+ i've seen kids as young and 9 playing this game. I think it's an utter disgrace that Outspark have failed to develop a punshiment fitting for the crime.
If i had kids ages 13 playing this game i personally would phone Outspark and make a formal complaint.

Also if anyone read the thread regarding academy warp to member, it was a privalidge given to us to enable guilds to help out their academy members quote from neko san herself " it wasn't a bug until people abused it"
Don't you think this is the same? We as players have been entrusted with the capability to let everyone on the whole server know if we are buying or selling anything. But no just like the warp to academy member you have people out there that will do almost anything for personal gain even if it means everyone, not just one person absolutly everone suffer because they can't be bother to be decent and polite to there fellow game players.

If anything i would ban those people perminantly, and i have expirance of being a moderator for other forums ect and believe me that sort of behaviour is not tolerator at all so why should it be tolerated here.

Adding to the issue... the censor doesn't seem to work normally on roars. Some words - I'd rather not post which - come through roar chat that are blocked in, say, shout chat.

And one more thing, why is "classes" blocked as "cl*****", but you can say "***", and "gays" is not filtered, but "gay" is. That's as bad a blunder as whem "clam" was censored back in Ye Olden Days of Fiesta.

EDIT: Even more interesting that you can use the three-letter word for donkey ingame and not on the forums. >_>

i think the censoring outspark has done is terrible, what they need is GMs to moniter the roars on each server few hours in the morning few in afternoon and extra few in the evening as thats when fiesta is most busy.

I came back to this game after six months' absense, and the roars in general came as an unpleasant shock. Luckily they don't bleed into Guild and Academy chats. If that happens in the future, I'll stop playing and take my gaming money elsewhere. >_<

But, Roars cost Sparkcash, and Sparkcash cost real money. And the Real money goes to OutSpark, and everyone wants Roars, so OutSpark sells roars for sparkcash, causing players to Buy more Sparkcash, Making them more money.
Why would the players using roar stop? It's a chat, they have the right to talk about what they want as long as it follows the ToS, and they are paying to use it. Let them waist their roars on worthless discussions about Noodles. Granted it can be annoying.

But everything in the discussion the OP presents to us viewers; is following the Terms of Service. If you have screenshots and instances where people are not following the ToS continuously, i suggest you submit a ticket, people who are abusing the Power of Roar do not deserve to have them; but there are plenty of players who use roars in a usefull way; for example:
"Selling xbow +9, level 50 /w me"
or
"Hey Stephanie, if your online can you /w me? I don't know your characters name"
or even
"Hey, I am a level 70 mage, can i join *thisguild*? /w me!"
and people are allowed to converse over Roars, as long as it's appropriate. Like I said, If you have examples/screenshots of when people are abusing their ability to Roar, Please submit a ticket.

Its hard to ignore especially when your somewhere on your own and all you see in your chat box is a pointless roar convo or "(insert name here) is a scammer"; "(insert name here) hacked (insert name here)"; "(insert guild name here) is a bunch of wimps"; "I pwnd (insert name here) because I charmed with a crit suit and they had nothing"; "I <3 (insert as much text as fits in a roar here)" and etc etc etc etc

Frankly speaking, such roars are annoying, but it doesn't escape the fact that OS won't impose restrictions on a cash item unless there are benefits in it for them.

The first priority of any business venture is to earn money. However, businesses also tend lose sight of where that money comes from - customers.

Therefore, a good business ensures a good deal for any customer, potential, casual, regular or fanatic.

OS just has a long way to go to make a good compromise between customers and their business interests.

Like I said, introduce a cash item that allows you to

1) Block roars totally from entering your chats.
2) Block roars coming from people you put in the block list.

Make that a monthly service, and charge a nomimal fee of ~1-2k sc.
Permanent blocking can also be an option, where you pay ~8-10k sc.
It honestly will not be hard to do something like that, considering the fundamentals for chat filters codings are already set properly in.

Yes they do, but... around 80% people use it for useless spam.
I'll feel bad for the people who try to sell their items and recruit people in guild, but you can only blame these 'spammers'.

In my opinion they're just telling the whole server how stupid they are. Sorry, but that's how I feel.

And you can't ignore it. The text color is light and you see it so easily; and you'll notice it extremely well when there are 5 or more spammers and a huge wall of text. You'll read the spams even you're looking at people talking in normal chat.

Roars are good if you're doing the following: Buying/Selling Stuffs, Reminding people to join KQ or informing the whole of Isya about an event or a Helga's Tomb raid
But seriously....I go to Abyss to isolate myself from people and I have to deal with idiots talking rubbish on their roars! Basically what your saying is ignore something unblockable and heard EVERYWHERE IG. And some of these are disturbing. They could compair to 2 students having sex in a school bathroom. You can leave (treat it as blocking someone in normal chat/shout). On the other hand, roars are like if it was doen in the principals office with the intercom on. You can't exactly ignore something thats blasting through the whole school...
Just liek you can't block a roar.

I don't know if you have realised this but there are becoming to be an increasing ammount of younger players joining the game some under the age restriction to play the game, so lawfully if the game is set to 13+ everything people discuss whatever chat it's in should be PG 13.

Also communicting to other players disrespectfully, with vulgarity and just utter rudeness is against ToS and the perpitrator is liable to be in serious trouble with outspark staff, the outspark staff do not encourage people to ignore people who break ToS and do encourage them to screenshoot and report them immeadiately.

I don not believe in ignoring such disgraceful behaviour, nor should minor people be hearing such inappropriate language when it is preventable.
Further more no one should have to listen to those sorts of people at all, telling someone to talk in the guild chat/academy/party/whisper does not solve the problem.

On a lighter note some of the stuff people say can be pointless and annoying especial those that are just spam, but when someone is trying to be genuinely funny being within the ToS it can be amusing. For example early today i logged on and someone put in roar " im so happy im a gummy bear...gummy gummy gummy bear"

It is a problem because players are given a priverledge and just like other priverledges you get the silly fools who abuse it regardless of what the rules say, and ruin it for ever other player.
Yeah you can report it but no one should have to listen to it, like i said before burrying your head in the sand and hoping it goes away does not solve the problem and trying to escape into another chat doesn't either. We should be given the option to block roars, rather than pretend nothing is happening.
