I have an idea that I've kept forgetting about until now.
Why don't we have Guild Weapons? Weapons locked to the guild itself.
Figure this. A section in your guild storage where there are 11 categories.
1 Handed Sword
Fighter Shield
2 Handed Sword
Axe
Mace
Hammer
Cleric Shield
Bow
Crossbow
Staff
Wand
Each category will have 1 empty slot which can be filled with the weapon of that category. The guild Master and Admin can distribute these weapons to people in the guild they decide can use them (the master has the option of restricting Admin from doing this if he wants). The weapons are linked directly to the guild itself and is bound to the person holding it so that they cannot sell it, trade it, etc. They can only put it back into Guild Storage. Because it's linked to the guild, if the user leaves the guild, the weapon will automatically be returned to it's spot in Guild Storage under it's category and a notification will appear in the Guild notes to let the admin and master know that the weapon is no longer being used.
The guild master has the power to replace 1 registered weapon with another at any time as long as the weapon being replaced is in storage. The item being replaced is sent to the regular Guild Storage and is no longer bound to the guild.
What do you think? My guild loves passing down our weapons but there's always that constant fear that someone is going to join and then run off with a weapon the entire guild has been working collectively to perfect, never to be seen again. With this idea, people can pass their weapons down through the guild without worry. :)
