From my viewing of the ads and trailers for Dance Groove, it seems that the only music genre is 'new' (e.g. rap, pop, etc.)
Well? Am i correct?

Yeah. There were a couple rock-ish songs, though. But remember that it's still in Closed Beta at the moment, so other music might come out.
...depending on whether or not the rights can be obtained, I think. o.o They can't just take any old song and use it. (...well, they probably could, but then they'd have that record label's lawyers hounding them down. Not something Outspark would want.)
Were you hoping for some classical or something? =o
