i went to the sos guide and tried to get my first quest.... she told me i have to go to the guard at loem valley... how do i do this??????? pls help me

You have to talk to the guard in Loem Valley and he'll tell you what you have to do (to get there, go one screen right, then one screen down from Brynhilld Trisects)...
