Hi! I saw SoS while I was broseing about the net and thought it looked interesting. As a long-time player of Ragnarok Online the style really appeals to me, so I'm currently downloading the client now.

But I'm curious. The mainsite doesn't give much information in the way of what each character class does (either that or I'm just too noob to find the info). I looked around these forums a bit but I still couldn't find a definate answers. Some of the classes are common sense, like Acolyte and such, but what skills do these characters learn? What kind of weapons do they use?

If someone could be so kind as to give me an unbias summary of each class and their capabilities I'd be really greatful. :) I really hope one of them can use bows or something like that! I love archer-class characters.

Thanks in advance. <3

Starter class:

Xenian.

Not much to write home about apart from it's the starter class. Learns the skill called Xen", which increases attacks about 50% at that attack. Can wear only two sets of armor.

------------------------
First upgrade:

(Note: All classes here after can use one skill that stuns monsters, or slows them down. The time and relibility of these skills varies with the class)

Fighter: Maintanks with good strenght and decent hp. They learn some strong(pales to some other classes' moves) skills, along with the party friendly "Overburn", which increases hp-pool for a set time.

Prefers generally to put points into POW.(Spare some for Overburn)
Uses swords only.

Rogues: Quick warriors with deadly indirect skills as they go up in levels. Mediocre defenses, but makes up with speedy attacks.

Possess the skill called "Accuracy", a team friendly skill like Overburn.

Prefers AGI when it comes to point distribution.
Uses knives only.

Those two classes have an easier time doing solo then the remaining two.
(Note that magicians still have a much easier time levelling then acolytes)

Magician: Heavy damage once they reach level 21. Learns some exceptional spells as they progress. Yet their defenses are weak in case monsters thaws to early from Ice Magic. Always attacks from the distance. Wears weak armor.

Uses canes only, not recommended in close combat ever.
Puts points into INT.

Acolyte: The main buffer and healer with major problem going solo if you don't have the eceonomy for it. Possess some skills for combat in form of the offensive skill "Illusion Quake", though it's very weak. Spirit helps to lock up monsters(along with players in pvp) so you can escape.

Acolytes are desirable for any party, as they can raise your offense, defense, remove poison, heal, resurrect(at level 45) and from what I have heard: also remove more harmful debuffs like curse and burn.

Becomes more of a threat when they reaches the fifties and later, as skills becomes dangerous.

Wears weak armor.

Uses staffs. Never use them in close combat as well.
Puts points into INT.

-------------------------
Subclasses: (Only hybrides are available as of now.)

Predictor: (Upgrade your acolyte at level 45 by talking to the acolyte guildleader, and give him the "ornament", not "wand")

Now the acolyte is a warrior with taste for blood. Possess selfbuffs for attack and defense(Can not be used on other players, even other Predictors), can heal over time with skills, hindr and even freeze opponents with skills as they go up.

Have an hard time levelling alone if monsters decides to attack two or more at difficult maps until in their fifties.

Possesses the skill known as "Eurajor", which increase your manapool for some time, just like Overburn increases health.

Uses mace. Decent armor.
Points points into POW until around level 51, when they can start putting into STA.

Archer: Upgrade your rogue at level 45, find the armor pieces the(I presume) rogue leader wants to find.

A pure distance user like the magician with a wide array of skills to boot for "herding" monsters.

Uses the bow. Decent armor.

Monda- Predictor lv 51
