the meaning of jumping...

Its just fun to do while running, and jumping off of steep things is fun.

you wouldn't believe how many complaints about not being able to jump there were with Ryzom. Just like in fiesta, jumping would have had no use there from practical point of view. Apparently people really really want to jump :cool:

Jumping would probably make a difference if the game was made on another engine (I.E.: The Unreal engine. The game would run a hell of alot faster too, if they used this engine too.)

Between the people I know, there are two instances when you are running from a monster. First, when you are luring it away from a crowd to adeptly fight it by yourself/with your party. Second when you are running crazy because the thing is going to kill you. When in the later of the two situations, a "jump" differentiates between the two and says, "OMG! HELP! SOMETHING'S AFTER ME AND I DON'T HAVE TIME TO TYPE THIS LONG MESSAGE! HEAL! TAUNT! DO SOMETHING!" or something like that. Who knows, I might be paraphrasing.

Then, of course, thank your savior once the monster is dead.

Nothing funnier than being in a Guild War and chasing someone who is hop-happy (jumping while fleeing from me).

The fact I catch up with them none the less should be a hint that it doesn't give you "distance" like you wish it did.


Yes, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but jumping while fleeing doesn't do anything but pass the time to you inevitable death.
