Where are the areas they spawn?

Two chests, every area. They don't spawn very often though.

I found a chest the other day and was so excited, except when I went to click on it there was no possible way to get to it. It was on the top of the hill with the two watch towers (forget which map that was) and little hobs.

Does this happen often or is it just the occasional glitch that I happened to be the unlucky recipient of?

Haha no, which lets me know that either someone found a way to get it, or it vanished :D

Either way, I was a little upset that I couldn't get it. What's usually in those anyway, completely random items or like +x equipment?

who knows im always looking for them but its like they dont exist besides when someone says they found 1 or 2. I met a girl who had found 4 once.

Yeah, I was wondering if I should delete my previous comments after I conveniently discovered that there is a "search" link at the tops of these forums, it's amazing what you can find when you open your eyes :)

Apparently, these chests give you just as random results as the KQ chests <shrug>. Oh well, maybe next time I'll find one I can actually open!

i found one, and just got some materials and i think one of those special elrues or lixes, don't remember which one, it was in forest of mist

My first chest had a pet and other random items. next two chests also had pets and random items. 4th one had lucky xir and items. 5 th one same only blessed xir.
